It's impossible to compare really isn't it.
I think the level of consistency required now is something we've never seen before.
But me personally I enjoyed watching football more during the 80's and 90's. For me the Barnes, Beardsley Aldridge team will never be bettered. But I didn't watch every game, I watched extensive highlights where available but it's possible that has clouded my view.
This is the best team results wise I can remember in recent years but possibly there were moments with Gerrard &Torres, Suarez, Fowler when I got more excitement. Maybe that is age and losing love with the game. I envy the kids aged 17-25 getting to have this team to support when you are at your most energetic. Lucky *******s. Its some team.
