Huge huge huge game coming up. Biggest of the season.
I just hope that Anfield is the cauldron that it can be. Like the time we spanked them in the CL.
People saying that Silva is huge loss for them. I am not so sure. I think that Pep might have dropped him for this one anyway. A lot will depend on how quick we can transition in the counter attack. First goal will be massive. We need to start like a ****in Tesla - one criticism this season would be that we have been slow to get going in games.
When I saw the fixtures before the season started, I thought that if we can be within 4 points of City after we played them at Anfield, then we'd have a good crack at the league. Because we'd have played Arsenal and Spurs at home and Chelsea and United away. They've played Spurs at home. Since then Leicester have also become a force in this seasons league and we've played them at home too!!! A win and a 9 point lead would be incredible stuff - and then we get to see them play Chelsea and United in the next couple of weeks too.

This is huge, D. Silva is out and B. Silva is apparently not playing too well, so their options are somewhat limited, but I am dreading the counters though, with Sterling/Aguero running on balls from KDB, we've been having problems defending counter attacks and they have brilliant players for that.Originally posted by frank the tank View PostHuge huge huge game coming up. So do we though. It is great for the league that the best two teams also play the best football. From a neutral point of view.
Would include Leicester in that and say the best 3.
For me, Klopps big decision will be around midfield. Obviously there is no decision on Fabinho and Gini's work rate probably makes him a starter too. Henderson is the big call - that Klopp will probably start. I'd prefer to see Milner there but I wonder does Klopp not start him in the huge games because he isn't sure if he will be able to finish them? Plus Milner is such a good guy to be able to bring on no matter how the game is going.
I just think that if we start a Fab / Gini / Henderson midfield, if we are behind then we will struggle to come back into the game.
I worry about KDBs balls out to Sterling. I think Pep will try to exploit the space behind Trent and look to give Sterling a clear run at Lovren.

Not at Anfield he doesn't. Never scored. 10 games (I think), no goals.Originally posted by BigChief View PostYeah I agree with Lovren v Sterling. Gomez at RCB might be better suited, seems to keep Sterling **** scared in games. The only other fear is Aguero who seems to score from any angle against us. Always. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

He tried hat in CL when we won 3-0. Trent was on the back of a few dodgy games (United and forgot the other) so everything went down City's left to Sane and Silva, but Trent was brilliant on the night. Lovren also played that game.Originally posted by frank the tank View PostSo do we though. It is great for the league that the best two teams also play the best football. The long ball over the top against our new higher line has been what teams have tried to do all season and it has worked as we have only kept 2 clean sheets this season so far and haven't looked as solid back there as last season. I do think i will just take a bit of time for us to get that right.
That ball over the fullbacks, especially from KDB is inevitable imo.

We've been playing a high line for the past couple of years too. It's not new.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostTrying to think of goals that we have conceded from having a noticeably high defensive line..
The amount offsides given against opposition teams in that time is ridiculously high too.Oh I don't know.

It's not the ball over the top persay... its the long/diagonal balls to wide positions in behind our fullbacks when they are advanced that has caused us some issues.Originally posted by dom9 View PostWe've been playing a high line for the past couple of years too. It's not new.
