City currently need us to lose 5 games. They would also need to win all of their final 22 games to win the league (or us to lose even more than 5 of the remaining games).

That’s us losing 5 games out of 22. Or one in every 4.5. It does feel unlikely with our current squad and form.

Leicester ‘only’ need us to lose 3 games, ( with them also need to win all three of their games). That’s us losing 1 out of every 7.3 games. This stat keeps us honest. But.

If we beat Watford then Leicester draw or lose to City we would be 11 points ahead of both (or 13 ahead of City and 9 from Leicester if they draw) with them having 20 games and us 21 to play.

This scenario requires them going on massive winning sprees and out form flatlining (or losing a game every 4).

So of course it’s not over (not even close) but we are in a ****ing amazing position, and if we are still 10 points clear in early Jan then.... we’ll, you know
Aren't we already 14pts ahead of City? I think that gap would become 16pts not 13pts

But if we draw rather than lose it increases the number of games that we have to drop points in.

We have a game in hand against West Ham that's been moved from that week to Feb. So 13 with us playing one less game, I think

I’m just trying to give an indocation of the size of the swing required. Drawing means the deficit is clawed back even more slowly.

Ah cool. Which games is it being assumed that City and Leicester win to close that gap then

Assume they both thin this weekend and we do also.

Then they play each other. Ideally City win or draw.

So we extend the gap without playing. Then we play Leicester and at least need to avoid defeat.

I posted it for two reason:
                        1. I had just been reading the article
                        2. I was trying to be funny (and failed )

Its ok mate, I used to get it all the time on this forum years ago and it really used to annoy me. As I was having a bit of fun and then that sort of thing shut it down. (Back then)

Just bought back some memories. Bit of forum PTSD

I know people dont mean anything by it, im just being over sensitive

No worries. For the record, my spelling and grammar is poor and I have no confidence in my writing (e.g. I avoid writing on whiteboards in work/workshops out of genuine fear).
