I think they will see this as the fairest way, if they were to end the season after 30 games or so and relegate some teams etc they would complain that some sides have had a tougher run of fixtures than others. We would be the main team to lose out.

That can't happen though, what about the financial impact on those teams looking to go up, what about Bolton's points deduction.

A simple scrub & restart is just impossible IMO

Yep hope so. We've gone far enough into the competition to know who's coming where throughout the league. If teams are concerned they should start winning games now to improve their frozen position. Ultimately it's PL rules and PL's decision. If teams want to sue they can get out of the league and start their own. Same with all the other European countries. It's not as though we're stopping tomorrow.

I just find the integrity of the league a little questionable if we're this close to winning, could be even closer in a few weeks, or have it wrapped up, and it's cancelled.
If it's cancelled who gets the Euro places? Surely if the places have to be decided then a line in the sand for this season needs to be drawn and that line leaves us top

Don’t think us getting the title will be a problem but I’ve accepted the celebrations are going to be ruined, only my clueless guesswork opinion but just seems inevitable. Obvs more important issues in the world but it is going to be proper **** if after years of losing out to cheats, referees, crazy bad luck we finally end the drought and no one is there!

Hopefully we can cling on long enough to win it at a stadium but a parade seems a big long shot I reckon.

If the whole season is voided do Bury get readmitted as technically their expulsion didn't happen?

Ok, I’m thinking of a number from 1 to 10...

All the options would have legal cases imo

No doubt, that's the modern world/game. I think the most likely outcome would be a curtailment of the season with final positions taken at a certain point. Hugely messy whichever way it goes.

After this weekend there will be just 9 games remaining for the majority of the league. Whilst that is a small number when you're 22 points clear, for teams in the relegation battle or race for top 4 it's a lot!

Man City would argue that with 10 games left (after this weekend) they still have over 25% of their fixtures remaining.

That being said we'll get this round of fixtures in and then you'd imagine there would be a fixture behind closed doors before the events themselves are stopped.

Only the year we're running away with it could this ****ing happen though

The real issue will be when somebody at a club contracts the virus, then I think the league will be curtailed

Yes i agree thats the point it will be stopped; pretty high chance of that TBH, considering the amount of teams involved & the sheer number of staff employed by clubs

Rival fans taking great delight in the league being cancelled as the only way to stop us. How sad is that

I'd take that as where we are now suggests we'd walk it, whereas form says we could make it difficult for ourselves

                                This season ffs
