Why does the season have to start in September in the future?

Just postpone until such a time as we can sensibly restart. Then finish, factor in a break and new pre season and work it from there. Could be a neat solution to the WC in Qatar next winter. We could just rework the football calendar.

Lots of teams will not want to void.

City - last chance of CL for 2 years
Utd - on the cusp of CL void and they have to go again in a new season in the Europa
    Leicester - in CL places
Sheffield Utd - in the fight for first ever CL
Wolves - still in Europa and in the fight for CL
Bournemouth, Villa, Norwich all related with 9 games to play.
Leeds - on the cusp of promotion

    etc

    etc

I can see why teams having nondescript or relegation threatened seasons would be pushing for it.

But lets say they void the league there will be financial costs - season ticket refunds, loss of some tv revenue not the upfront payments but payments already scheduled to be on tv, some teams could also argue loss of sponsorship bonuses

Liverpool could probably argue a huge loss of earnings from being "champions"
True but I imagine that it is easier to sort out these business and financial situations than the football fallout of relegating sides etc, they could for example add another year to those deals for no extra money or a reduced deal to account for that. The PL could afford that and compensate a handful of sides for their losses
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

        How about this?

Cancel internationals for this summer and next season, shift league start dates, compress next season and finish current one as we'd ordinarily be starting the next. Extended summer transfer window until new season proper starts.

Then again, money from competitions not yet begun are more important than the sporting integrity of competitions that are almost finished.

A suspension of several weeks is more than likely just delaying the inevitable.

I've pretty much accepted the worst.

If football doesn't find a way to stop us winning the title, then trust the ****ing Universe to step in. Beyond belief

You can bet your arse City, Mancs, Chavs and Spurs will be lobbying hard for it to be abandoned. It'd probably only be us, and the ones scraping for Europe/relegation that fight for it to be played out.

You just know how its going to end don't you. This is Liverpool after all. That bloody gypsy curse must be true, the amount of unbelievable **** that happens to this club is unfathomable.

Yeah Paul Gorst of the Echo has already hinted that the clubs lobbying for the season for the season to be null and void are are exactly the ones that you'd expect.

Citeh isn't a surprise. They're lashing out because of the Champions League ban.

United? Aside from hating our guts I've no idea why they'd be so keen. They'd be out of the Champions League for another season.

Spurs and Chelsea can just **** off

How about voiding and combining the league season with next - so all teams keep their current points and go again.

We could be the first team to break 200 points in a season

Martin Lipton seems to say it’s just 2 clubs advocating for abandonment and everyone else pro-completion.

Can’t imagine who the two are!

How do we think Klopp would react if they abandon the season and void all results?

There are times you think he's an absolute madman, but generally thats on the touchline in the heat of the moment. In front of the cameras he always seems to say the right things, even when you want him to call out the ref for being a useless prick etc.

I’d say Spurs for sure, they are the one team who would benefit most. Can’t win anything this season and voiding guarantees them CL next time we play.

                                And Everton.
