Lallana has been fantastic in that no 6 role.

It will be interesting to see how he does. I feel like the same instincts that people rightly complain slows us down when he plays further forward, make him potentially quite a good midfield pivot.

Hoever has been very good again.

Very good half that after the first few minutes when we had to get to grips with the game. Pressing and passing has been excellent. Lallana in this position is going to be a revelation if he can keep himself fit. Man of the match for me in that first half.

Good on the ball but physically a bit weak for me - got knocked off it a few times. Be interesting to see if he gets any meaningful minutes as a 6 this season as Fab, Gini and Hendo are ahead of him for me.

I’d be quite sad to see him sold not having had a proper chance. Bit harsh really. In fact I’d sell lallana first.

Great to get that win and to see some of the big boys back in action. Run outs for Lallana, Keita and Shaq too.

Nice to win and see us play much better - I still worry about the drop off from the front 3 to the backups. Origi is v poor on the ball and Brewster looks a massive prospect but his use of the ball and ability to hold onto it is way behind Bobby. I’d say Elliot look better as a wide option in his two cameos than any of the others I saw.

Good to have a near full strength squad coming into the start of the season though.
