I think the area we missed players like Elliot in is more to do with the nerdy and enthusiasm he brings to the team when he comes on.

Same could be said for Endo who when he came in because Slot didn’t have any more options showed how much he brings to the team with the effort and energy in that half of football before being injured. If he had been given more time that could have made a difference this season. He may not have the ability of others but offers plenty of other qualities you need in a team for the right balance.

Two things we have lacked big time this season and those two players would have provided plenty of that.

He is, and he is also nowhere near to being as talented as Wirtz.

Wirtz according to many has has a really awful season yet he has gotten more goals and assists than what Elliot did in any one of his seasons with us.

And in the PL Wirtz has scored more for us this season that Elliot has for us in the PL for all his seasons combined.

Elliot does not even have the young player who might develop in time thing over Wirtz as Wirtz is a few months younger than Elliot.

He's a great player and whilst he might not ever be a legend, he would have improved our fortunes this season. Nothing but hope for him, he's had such an up and down career, he deserves a bit of stability where he is appreciated.

He did actually make appearances for them on the Europa didn’t he?

He has been totally shafted by the terms of the move, dunno if that’s on us or them but it’s a disgrace that he’s not been able to play this season.
Yeah, my cousin is a Villa fan and he says all the Villa fans he knows feel really sorry for Harvey. Hopefully whatever is next for him works out better in the long run.

I loved the tongue in cheek comment he made. PLAYED A HUGE PART

That one sub appearance against palace is looking pretty costly then.

My understanding is that is up to the two clubs

From Harvey's perspective, I think he might want to wait and see what happens with Slot. When he left for Villa, it came across that he was gutted to do so but it made sense because he wasn't going to make inroads into the lfc squad with Slot at the helm. And also at the time it is likely that Harvey probably thought that with a bit of luck then he had an outside chance of making the England squad for the world cup.

Right now though, he can forget about the world cup and he might get as much time at lfc as he will for Villa. And if Slot did leave, then he might have half a chance to impress a new manager.

I personally think it is more likely that slot will still be here in 2 years time but it is a free roll of the dice for Harvey.

IIRC you can apply for special dispensation but if we/he were to do that it would suggest there is absolutely no way back. Question is if he comes back does he get asked time? I think we would be a useful squad option, but I thought that last year and he barely played....

I like Elliott and I would definitely keep him around for the rest of the season as he can play from the right or is another option in CM (where we only really have 4 starting options), I would have though there should be a decent number of opportunities for him, except for the fact Slot doesn't seem to rate him, which has to be the main concern.
Yeah the player I’d like to see cover for Mo is Frimpong due to his electric pace on the wing. I think he could really unlock the defences & supply Isak with tap ins.
