I didn't think much of it at first but on replay, you can see the raised trailing leg smash into the back of Elliott. Also the leading foot is also raised which is also potentially dangerous but wasn't close to Elliott.
Yeah I’m not sure what match they were watching. In real time it didn’t seem that bad first time I saw it but Mo’s response made me realize the severity of it.

Look at the footage, his foot was flopping around, facing the wrong way - all the tendons and ligaments will be ****ed. He’s in for an operation this week, hopefully it’s not a season ending injury but I suspect it will be.
He was starting to look really influential in midfield as well. Brutal timing.
Even if the injury itself only keeps him out for a few months, there is still the rehab and getting back up to fitness etc he'd essentially need another preseason, I would imagine the best case scenario would be him making a few appearances at the end of the season. But even by the standards of bad injuries we've had in the last few years this looked a nasty one. I'd be surprised if he plays again this season, hopefully it's nowhere near as bad as it looks...
