Yep. Only worth keeping if he is going to get sustained game time. If he is not going to get that then it is better for the player and club if he can get a move to a team that wants to have him as a starter.

Oddly enough if we were only now signing the Nunez from his final season in Portugal, I would be very excited about him linking with the three players we have already brought in.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

The tragic loss of Jota will be covered to some degree financially by insurance for the club. However, insurance payments are currently outside of PSR, so the impact on our PSR will be negative compared to a scenario where we had sold him. May be there is a case in this except circumstance to change the rules going forward as it would appear to create a double whammy for any club that loses a player the way we lost Jota.

In another thread, Deano commented on the club taking advantage of the early window to amortise some of the new signings in the 24/25 season to aid PSR. My limited research seems to imply that may not be possible as the early window was after the 24/25 season was officially finished. I hope I’m wrong.

So would us signing a replacement for Jota be an exceptional circumstance under the PSR rules as by way of force majuere or summat like that?
Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!

I suspect it’s not Force Majeure - that would be a defined term in most contracts. It was probably used for the Covid season for example. There maybe some other clause that captures it though.

There are apparently rules in place governing insurance payments already and they are not classed as normal income under PSR and therefore excluded.

It will just depend on the wording whether they envisaged this exact scenario and how it could impact PSR without club or player fault. If not, then there is probably a good case to apply for a change, which would need to be agreed by a majority of the members. Given the universal show of support across the league, I can’t see that being a problem.

My understanding was that for PSR the year runs from the first of July to the end of June, which would mean that for book keeping purposes any transfers completed would fall into the year just ending rather than the year just starting. As there is a 3 year rolling window and we were well under the allowed limit for the 3 year period the new signings would effectively only be included in the next 2 years of rolling 3 year windows rather than the next 3 (if they had signed in July). But who really knows...
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

So basically have some common sense prevail.

              Cheers for that.

Selling club assest to yourself or your ladies team = fine

Playing dying and needs replacing = not fine

Surely this merits a rule change for a scenario that was probably never considered

100%, but the change will be required.

Off to Villa on loan with an obligation to buy at £35 million.

Lower than was reported they would sell for but maybe there is a decent loan fee or a sell on / buy back clause.

Always a fan but he’s just not getting into this team now.

                    RW - Mo / Frimpong / Chiesa
                    10 - Wirtz / Dom / Ekitike
                    Midfield - Alexis / Dom / Jones

Good luck and really hope he does well. It feels like he got a bit stuck here and never found his role and it slowed his development.

In hindsight feels like he should not have signed for us when he did. Missed a lot of proper game time at a really important age.

He's a fantastic lad though and I back him to now kick on. All the best Harvey.

Maybe, but he won a title and some trophies, as he is a Liverpool fan I hope he has no regrets.

Good move for him, talented guy just not at the level we need and unlucky that the prem goat is playing in his position.

I think this is a little tickle under the chin to warm them up for Morgan Rodgers. I just don't know where he goes though which is why i don't think we've moved for him, yet.

Trained with world class players, developed a winning mentality, won 2 Euros and was player of tournament.

His progression may have stalled a bit, but he's only 1 year older than Kane when he finally broke though, so has plenty of time to continue his development and have a long career ahead.

                              Good luck to him.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Loan to Villa with obligation to buy, based on appearances...

How many appearances? And how much?

Good luck Harvey, I hope he does really well for them.
