Once the joint is put back into place, it will take about 6 to 8 weeks for the ligaments and bones to heal. Range of motion exercises or physical therapy may be prescribed early in your recovery. This is to prevent the joint from getting stiff.
Hopefully it's only a few months.

He’s been discharged from hospital and he will undergo surgery in the next few days.

Seeing he has been posting on his Instagram already bodes well and shows his temperament. He’s a top lad and he’ll be back stronger.

What a shame for us all being robbed of his talent when he’s shown so much promise this season. Hopefully he’ll be back sooner rather than later.

When I seen it first I was sure it was a broken tib fib, even if it was a dislocated ankle it was obviously severely dislocated and his ligaments will be severely sprained/torn which can take just as long as broken bones to heal. Fingers crossed for the lad.

I tried to play it back to see how bad it was but couldn't get a clear view. FFS a really promising attacking midfield talent robbed of a season. Let's hope Ox and Keita can step up now.

As long as they wait until every other team has to deal with a severe injury before changing the rules

TV only showed once and you could see it was a bad challenge from that one viewing before all the reaction of Elliott, Salah and the medical team. Shocking from the ref to let play go on, I don't even think he was giving a foul or indicating advantage or anything.

In the wider context I am happy that we aren't penalising players for the slightest contact as was the case last year, but some of the challenges that players have been getting away with in the first few weeks of the season are outrageous and as Klopp said at the start of the season that has gone too far. You can say that the player today was punished but allowing as intense contact on players as we have been seeing this season go unpunished is going to lead to more injuries like Elliott's today
