What do we think happens with him does Iraola give him another chance or does Harvey want to leave to get regular game time. My feeling is we should try to keep him, he still won't be a regular starter but I would expect him to get more game time than he got under Slot

Yeah I definitely would keep him , partly because his value would have plummeted with no game time last season & partly because he’s home grown & capable of bringing energy off the bench.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostWhat do we think happens with him does Iraola give him another chance or does Harvey want to leave to get regular game time. Yeah, I thought we should have tried to bring him back in January to give us options, in Slot's first season he might not have got many minutes but he was quite productive when he did. I don't think he is first team quality but as an attacking option from the bench for the last 20-30 he would have improved us last season. I hope Iraola gives him a chance and he comes back motivated.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostWhat do we think happens with him does Iraola give him another chance or does Harvey want to leave to get regular game time. Also as you say the HG options are limited if we let Gomez, Jones, Elliott go many of the rest are just place holders in the squad rather than people who will contribute.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

The squad is so thin, even when we factor in any new additions. I reckon Iraola will give players, including Harvey a fair crack. He can evaluate squad players during preseason. We will need some experienced EPL players to feel the gaps. Harvey is a good player, just not the fastest, with those little legs..lolOriginally posted by Exiled_red View PostWhat do we think happens with him does Iraola give him another chance or does Harvey want to leave to get regular game time. Whatever happens he needs more game time, I think if Iraola uses the squad like Klopp did he could get a decent amount of football, and that might suit him having barely played for a year.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostI wonder how he feels about it. He left to get first team football and then didn’t get any for a year. Maybe a few sub and cup appearances will be good by comparison, or maybe he’s now desperate to be a starter somewhere. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

With the style of football we will be playing (hopefully) We will need good squad depth, there will be rotation and a fair bit of it with 2 or 3 games a week at times. Players like Harvey will definitely have a fair amount of playing time. We'll need at least 2 for each position, probably 3 in the most demanding areas of the squad.Originally posted by Exiled_red View Post

Exactly this mate. I see him as the back up for Wirtz, not enough pace for the wing but he brings energy off the bench.Originally posted by MosRay View Post

I think the style of play is going to take it out of the players, certain players who have had injuries or fitness issues in particular we need a big squad.
If you think about it we are probably aiming to play 60 games next season, with added time they are more like 100 mins each, we need 11 players so that's 66,000 mins, at 4000 mins each that's 16.5 players (for reference only 4 players played that many mins this season), at 3000 mins each (only 10 players hit this last season) that's 22 players we would need, our squad is really undersizedThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Did you do a spread sheet up for that , cause Slot could have used that last seasonOriginally posted by Exiled_red View PostI think the style of play is going to take it out of the players, certain players who have had injuries or fitness issues in particular we need a big squad.
