Most of his goals and assists came late in games he struggled to have the same impact when he started games. I think he'd be a good option as an impact sub, but for his own career he needs to go somewhere that he'll get starts. As an attacking mid there are probably more opportunities for sub appearances than for Quansah or Kelleher, but given how little time he got last season I struggle to see that improving this year were he to stay. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Am still hopeful that Harv is kept on to challenge Salah. It's a big job, but he's such a good player it would be a real shame to let him go. I think we'd be pretty excited if we were signing him now, but unfortunately he'd have to be happy with a squad place. As I see it, the only fault I see so far in Slot's methods is his reluctance to rotate, even in games we should coast. Even the FA Cup and League Cup aren't enough to truly sate a player of his quality. He needs more league games. I wouldn't begrudge him any move he makes.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostMost of his goals and assists came late in games he struggled to have the same impact when he started games. Slot did come out and say he needs to rotate more next season and has learnt it’s more of an issue than he was used to. So even with that in his mind he’s still happy to see Elliot leave. And if you look at the signings and potential ones that depth and quality has improved and will make that rotation easier with less drop off and players he’s happy with.
Sadly he just hasn’t progressed. And I know he didn’t play much this season but I’m talking under Klopp who loved him. He couldn’t establish himself as a regular first choice in his midfield even during and after the rebuild he never played week in week out and while he started games it was never 3-4 in a row. He came in and out of that team.
And this from someone who has backed him from the start. I’ve always been a massive fan but it’s time to face reality and I don’t think we’ll regret it. I’m sure he’ll do well wherever he goes but not at the very top level.

Whether Slot might rotate more next season and that means more game time for Elliott or not I suspect if we are talking £50m the club probably think that is too good an offer to turn down for a squad player. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Yeah £50m would be too much to knock back imo. I think we’ll accept around £40m but I’m also happy if he stays as long as Slot gives him game time. Based on how Jota performed after his injury I’d rather he was sold, Nunez & Chiesa too actually before we sell Harvey.Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

He needs regular games, but I doubt Brighton will let us negotiate a buy back though, they'll see him as an investment as they do with all their players. He's red through and through though so if he got the chance to come back later I think he'd jump at it. Will be sad to see him go but he needs the move now, he'll be a fantastic player for someone.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Situation with him is a tricky one, if he played for someone else and we were linked with him everyone would be excited. But the kid needs to be playing regularly and that won't happen here. If we sell him we have to include a buy back option as you feel a season or two playing regularly and he could be a star. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
