I wonder if it’s more to do with his off the ball defensive work and not quite being able to physically offer what’s needed and also being in the right position and keeping his discipline.
Tonight I noticed Dom shouting for him to be in a certain position and he chased the ball and Brighton went straight through where Dom wanted him to be. I’m not sure if it’s a regular thing but I did pick up on that tonight.
What I worry about is we'll always need capable squad players, and whilst it's hard to see how he would nail down a regular starting place, he's a more than capable squad player and should have had more of a look in - and perhaps he'd be happy with that. Now if we can't keep him, we have to get another squad player who we can't keep happy. We can't have a squad of 12-13 players, so lads like Harvey are always required - we do need to rotate a little more. If Arne doesn't rate him - fair enough - but if we end up with lesser squadies than Harvey I'd be pissed off. He's a good player and a good lad.

..this...
This is sorely lacking from Harvey imo to hold a starting position (imo endo should have started this)...he's great coming on to 'change' the game, but as a starter long term...no...
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
He wants to be an old school number 10, waiting in the opponent's half to receive the ball and create chances/goals, and 20 years ago he'd have been a top class player doing that, but that role doesn't exist at the top level anymore. His pressing, tracking back, tackling game is mid to poor, and even his shooting technique is dubious. Maybe if he had Ronaldinho's box of tricks then a manager might build a team around him, but nobody in the PL is going to do it. He needs to change leagues or accept squad rotation, and I think should probably do the former. Either way, his dad will never be happy.

That's harsh, he played for Blackburn as an AM for a season and does for us as well or last season on the right the odd time. We don't play a 10 and he doesn't do that either.
In any case, if we can get £50m from Wolves i think its fair that'd suit all parties.
That blows my mind. I tend to still think of him as one for the future, full of potential with time on his side.
Unfortunately I think it'd be best for all of he were to move on this summer. No doubt he's developed as a player during his time with us but I don't think the heights that were perhaps unfairly expected.
Elliott was still our second most productive player for goals and assists to time on the pitch after Salah. Wirtz is an upgrade though and has a lot more to his game with more pace and dribbling.
Shame as it would have been good to see how far he could develop, but if he couldnt get in last year then it seems like its pointless staying here, and its likely we need the cash to fund the seemingly endless purchases we have lined up.
Not really sure he could have done much more, really. Ideally he would be backup to Wirtz, but I think he will play across the front line anyway. Really need to buy some tall midfielders going forward. Wirtz Macca and Endo might struggle with high balls. Jones isnt really a physical player either. I worry a long term injury to Grav could leave us with a gaping hole at the back. After the last season where we kept it pretty boring, Im seeing lots of high scoring games with our 2-2-6 formation [emoji16]
In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

He's had such a dreadful time with injuries and missed some development time there. I hope he lands well.
