Great news.
Also interesting that Harvey said the Leeds guy had nothing to apologise for, was an accident and wasn't a red.
I must admit I didn't think it was reckless or malicious. I think the natural reaction when one of your own teams players get hurt is to look for blame. It's a physical game and injuries will occur. Completely different to that cunt Pickford who took out Virgil. That was a cunts tackle.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

It's perception I guess. I'd have been steaming if someone like Gerrard had received a red back in the day. He did a lot of similar tackles.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostYeah it wasn’t as bad as that, but still a red for me.
If he’d timed it better it would have been ok, but it was from behind, a lunge and he took out Elliots trailing leg. Might have been an accident but still reckless.
Overall I'm in favour of the new approach of letting the game be more physical. It's not perfect but it's better now a player doesn't get a freekick for a defender breathing on him. I'd always prefer to watch a good two footed tackle over a couple of fancy backheels but that's never going to be allowed again and i realise I'm in the minority on that.

Actually, I agree to an extent.
It’s definitely better in terms of the amount of ‘play ons’ and hopefully stops the diving and play acting. But I will be interested to see what happens if there are a few bad injuries.
But for that one, you can’t tackle from behind so instant foul for me. But I can see the ‘other side’ and also yeah, it always seems different depending on which side of the decision you are on.Modifying post.

I would add the tackle on Harvey was a cunts tackle. He lunged in and won the ball fair enough, however, he intentionally clattered Harvey with his trailing legOriginally posted by BobTheCharmer View PostGreat news.

I kind of agree and I do think he was trying to "leave one on him". Harvey had just burst passed him and you could see that pissed him off. It wasn't "a horror challenge" by any means but it was dangerous and overly aggressive and the results of that speak for themselvesOriginally posted by Assassin View PostI would add the tackle on Harvey was a cunts tackle.
