Thought it would have been harsh at the time, but the more I look at the loop of it, that movement of the arm just before AOC strikes it is at least an instinctive effort to provide a bigger shield, if not intentional.
This season you frequently see defenders moving their arms behind their backs as shots come in......not so in this case.

Still.....VAR is great, isnt it ?

The distance probably saves it being a pen but that's a very unnatural angle. In Europe it's a stonewall. The PL changes their minds from week to week.

I thought that they had changed the rules to that this season.

As I understood it, last year that wouldn't be a pen because it's too close, this season it is because his hands are up and he's using it to make himself bigger.

But who knows, they make this stuff up as they go along.

Great win despite playing with a totally ineffective midfield for most of the match.

So pleased to see Robbo starting to get the odd goal as it was the only thing missing from his game.

We rested Fab & fortunately it didn’t cost us. Whist he certainly wasn’t great I thought Lallana was the best of the 3 starting midfielders but only marginally. They were all pretty dire tbh & that’s the worry going in against City next week. I’d start Fab, Millie & Ox next week but we’ll probably see Hendo & Gini yet again.

Sadio is a freak isn’t he. Play him on the left or the right & he scores week in week out.
