I was wondering that, I think that the closest player Burns(?) might have been closer than a yard from the edge of the wall but perhaps not by much, I guess in VAR fashion it depends which parts of the body countOriginally posted by Scratch View PostWatching that again on motd, could VAR have ruled that Brighton players were within a yard of our wall, or because the ball went nowhere near the wall is that redundant?
Is that even a VAR reviewable decision though? Can VAR measure absolute distances accurately? Can you imagine the fume if a goal is ruled out because an attacking player is 1cm too close to the wall
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

But if a goal is scored can a VAR check rule it out on this basis? Again this is something that is unclear regarding VAR rules.Originally posted by Scratch View PostApparently rules state that if an attacking player is within a yard of the wall (so long as the wall is 3 or more people) when the ball is struck then it's an indirect free kick to the other team. But it's not a decision that VAR would make, it's on the ref.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
