**** housing aside, I was quite impressed by Flamengo last night.

Their press, organisation and work rate was pretty immense, even more so than Salzburg. Add in the evil South American book of dirty tricks, and they were a formidable opponent.

When it got to extra time there was only gonna be one winner though as they really faded before the 90 was up.

Still, it really illustrated the resilience of our team again. Not just mentally but physically too. They are a machine.

I saw the game pretty differently. They didn't really want to play and their gameplan was to disrupt our rhythm as much as possible. RB Salzberg were miles better and played an honest game

I thought they defended well, particularly when we went long. The ref let them get away with far too much though. At one point Ox had three of them trying to wrestle him off the ball but no foul given. In return if we so much as farted in their direction they went down and got a free kick. They were decent going forward and kept possession quite neatly. Their undoing was weak finishing, final ball and our defending. They tried though. They came to play, just not nicely.

I mentioned during the game that it seemed the ref was applying Brazilian rules for them and Premier League rules for us. I couldn't fathom how they were getting away with it constantly with the ref buying their diving but totally missing it the other way round
