Think so too, but we can rotate and still keep a strong side, Adrian, Matip, Lovren, Keita, Ox, Milner, Origi, Shaq all want their minutes, even Jones will hope for some minutes, this being his competition so far.Originally posted by Norbs View PostI think we'll step up in the FA Cup now, JK sees there's some value in it and attempting to match the Utd treble will be a target for him* The above is posted in my opinion. I think the FA Cup side will still largely be 2nd XI with the likes of Matip, Lovren, Lallana, Milner, Minamino, Origi and Shaqiri if they are fit. That is a step up from the Shrewsbury replay but it's probably similar to the team that we would like to have played in the first Shrewsbury game, but alot of those players weren't available. I guess the big question is are the gaps in that side made up by first team players who aren't being rested or youngsters. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

If we’re down to just League and FA Cup then we can go as strong as we like in both.Originally posted by Phoenix07 View PostIf we get knocked out of the Champions League by Atletico, it'd be interesting to see what Klopp does, especially if we're still unbeaten in the league. We have seen that the break has an effect on our momentum, so if we have the title wrapped up and are still involved in the CL or FA Cup to keep momentum and give other players games or experience I would go for an approach of playing 8 or 9 of the first 11 and two or three backup players or youngsters in different areas of the pitch for example one game you could rest TAA, Fabinho and Salah, and in their place play Williams, Lallana and Minamino, next game you could rest VVD, Wijnaldum and Firmino and play Matip, Jones and Origi etc. That way you keep a strong team for all games and give other players game time. I think that this is useful for the likes of Jones who has mostly got games in young sides. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Every chance we could already be out of FA Cup by then.Originally posted by Phoenix07 View PostIf we get knocked out of the Champions League by Atletico, it'd be interesting to see what Klopp does, especially if we're still unbeaten in the league. Hmmm not sure. I wonder will he drop players against Chelsea in the Cup? To give us the best chance of beating Atletico?
I would prefer that we rest a few against Bournemouth - and play full strength v Chelsea.
It is a bit weird though. Obviously this has been an amazing season. And I'd have preferred the league over anything. If you offered me last August that Liverpool would win the league, but go out of every cup game at the first hurdle, then i'd have snapped yer hand off.
However, in the next 12 days, we could be just playing out our league season to break the record points total.
Or we could be going for a treble of League, Champions League, FA Cup to go with our World Cup and Euro Super Cup.

Ben Johnson disagrees with you. Won no medal or world record, but we all remember that 9.79Originally posted by greenturnip View PostIf an athlete breaks a world record but never wins and Olympic or World championship gold, then sadly, they won't be remembered in the same way. We all remember it, but it's completely tainted. (Even though most of the elite sprinters at that time we're cheating too anyway, just less brazenlyOriginally posted by BillobShaisley View PostBen Johnson disagrees with you. Won no medal or world record, but we all remember that 9.79

I'm saying records or not, some performances transcend normal reckoning.
You didn't need to be an athletics fan to watch the stumpy Canadian run away from the rest of the pack, pulling away as he eased up 10yards from the finish with a swaggering arm in the air as he coasts in for a finish in a time nobody dreamt was possible, to say WOW, that was history happening right there, I saw it, i'll remember that for the rest of my life.
Like us this year so far. Everyone knows about Arsenal's invincibles, footy fan or not. And keep this up, the Liverpool of 19/20 will also break that glass ceiling of recognition, one of the truly fantastic (literally) sports performances in history. That would have to count for something and I'd take it over a double (as a team that has won a lot of stuff, including doubles previously)."that is my opinion and that is more important than what anyone else has to say about it" - Mr A.Fergusson, Oct 2011
