Coronavirus and Football (Plus all Sport in General)

Remember when Atletico won La Liga, and had to wait to be presented the trophy because the head of the Spanish FA was travelling.

They were presented with the 13/14 trophy at the start of the 14/15 season. We'll probably have to do something similar if we wanted to involve fans.

Kane must be the only person on the planet ecstatic the euros have been delayed a year. What chance does anyone have when this **** is deemed suitable to be the country's captain.

I for one would lose interest in a sport that could be taken away at any point.

It would certainly make me question things.

I'd want nothing to do with a sport that allows a club to cheat it's way to the top, be found guilty of breaking the rules but be allowed to keep what they have won while at the,same time a,club that has done it the right,way has it taken away from them.

If that happens then **** football as it will have finally have been killed.

I'd always want the season completed for relegation/promotion purposes more than anything, I think winner and European places is less important.

If we were 12th and United were top i'd want football back regardless.

I dont think a season having its natural and proper conclusion is self serving.

Having come this far and not having a conclusion seems unfair to everyone. Obviously we clubs and fans have their own agendas, we would benefit be one of the sides who benefit, some see writing the season off as their opportunity to save their season. I don't really think it's fair to the players (who have relatively short careers) to see their achievements of the last 7 months cast aside because we don't have time to fit in 6 weeks of games before starting off on another 9 month campaign. And who is to say thay next season won't be hit with similar problems if we get a 2nd wave of this thing, if that happens as it could cancelling this season so next could go ahead would look even more foolish

My view of course is that the season should be completed, and I'd probably think that regardless of where we were in the league (although I'd be inevitably be less bothered).

And I am more than happy to admit that my own views are probably biased.

But I also think that other proposing alternatives is valid, and not necessarily an act of self-service. OK, Karen Brady was blatantly self serving when she proposed similar recently. But I don't think that goes for everyone.
