I think a 'circuit-breaker' might be the way to go, but it'd be strange for that to happen before there is some serious form of national lockdown.

I would have liked to have a seen them take steps like ****ing off international football, the league cup and having a plan in place for this happening again. As it stands, the season will be serious danger if this new strain takes hold.

I know that FIFA and UEFA wouldn't cancel competitive games because of the money but it really boils my piss that they have allowed pointless international friendlies.

I guess the revenue question comes into place for the league cup as well, because we have the FA, the EFL and the PL all in charge of their own competitions none are really willing to cancel their competition for the greater good. The multiple competition organizers is the problem here IMO.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

It is difficult to justify, but personally, so long as it’s not causing any harm or stress to the NHS then I hope it stays as it’s a massive help to my mental health.

                But.

Surely with the increase in infections and hospitalisation it is going to be increasingly hard to justify.

But what about the players and wider staff's health though?

Long covid is a real risk to them, and even if they're not symptomatic, they can contribute to the spread.

Right now, I think they should dial it down.
                  Oh I don't know.

How do they contract it though? You'd think with their fabulous wealth they can get **** delivered, isolate from the wider public, only be in contact with approved people?

It might even benefit us if we have a circuit breaker. Give us more time to get Virgil back.

Seriously, I think there should be one. This is going to get worse and I can only see them calling the season off in an emergency, like what happened in March.

22 players have direct contact for 90 mins plus all of the travelling to and from games, via hotels. It’s not 100% bullet proof even with the protocols. Plus the new strain is said to be more transmissible.

You can't take a 2 week break unless you're prepared to take a much longer one; there's no reason to think things will be any better in 2 weeks. You move on from making arguments about whether to stop, to trying to make the challenging argument that it is sensible to resume.

with the state of VAR i think its making mine worse. how about the footy continues but a two week circuit breaker on VAR?
