There was a lot of indignation when people raised concerns about fans congregating outside stadiums or mass celebrations in the event of the title being won.

But all these arseholes have proved them right. There'd probably even have been a something of a blind eye turned if it was just a one off outside Anfield for last night, but all this tonight is taking the piss.

And Bournemouth beach or wherever else doesn't excuse it. The club assured the authorities we could be trusted to stay home. Klopp asked us all to stay home. Selfish dick heads.

If this has consequences for the rest of our home games or the planned presentation next month then it's on these c*nts.
As you say I think it was understandable and you would perhaps turn a blind eye to the Anfield celebrations, but the ones yesterday were unnecessary and reflect badly on us.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Lockdown has been blown out of its ass up and down the whole country, especially for anyone under 30. Why should football fans be any different?

That's a nonsense comment. Liverpool has a very high R rate. These people are dickheads who, through their selfish bellend actions, have given people a stick to beat Liverpool fans and scousers in general with.

Absolute nobheads the lot of them.

Yep. I’ve been bombarded by knobs this morning trying to make me feel like a dickhead for what they did last night. I live 300 miles away ffs.

Clean up after yourselves. I want to celebrate as much as anyone else. But it’s a terrible look.

Official club statement for the knuckleheads

Throughout the last week, Liverpool Football Club, Merseyside Police, Liverpool City Council and Spirit of Shankly have worked together to consistently remind people that the region is still disproportionately affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and ask people to celebrate LFC’s Premier League title win safely.

Several thousand people turned up at the Pier Head on Friday June 26 and some chose to ignore the social distancing guidance and risk public safety.

Our city is still in a public health crisis and this behaviour is wholly unacceptable.

The potential danger of a second peak of COVID-19 still exists and we need to work together to make sure we don’t undo everything that has been achieved as a region during lockdown.

When it is safe to do so, we will all work together to arrange a victory parade when everyone can come together to celebrate. Until that time, the safety of our city and our people continues to be our number one priority.
"I will make the boys feel your support"
                    Jurgen Klopp June 2020

How is it nonsense? It happened. The consequences of contradictory messaging from the government and the Cummings effect. Go out, don't go out, bars are opening but be alert, you can drive to other places now, but make sure you don't go where everyone else wants to go like the beach, use an app, don't use an app, follow guidelines but use your judgment, it's not like they're meant to be prescriptive, we're going for herd immunity oh wait a minute we're not. You've got a whole load of young people up and down the country who've had their education put on hold or are unemployed or furloughed and that's about to end shortly - they've been stuck inside, the weather's nice and if you're the red half of Merseyside you've suddenly got a reason to go out, meet your mates and get hammered in the sun. Of course it's going to happen. The only way it wasn't going to happen is if it was pissing its pants right off. Any club who'd just won the league would have had the same thing.

Please don't tell me you expected everyone to stay home. Because that's nonsense.

It’s nonsense because fans were specifically asked by the club and the local authorities not to gather for mass celebrations. Never mind the contradictory Government guidelines. Did you think that simple and clear request was confusing or ambiguous in any way?

Celebrating from home doesn’t mean you can’t go outside at all. You can still have drink and you can still meet up with mates. All we were asked to do was keep things low key for now and wait a little longer for the big celebration.

It wasn’t a big ask and Cummings, sunny weather and other people being idiots elsewhere doesn’t excuse ignoring it. Nor do those things excuse all the anti-social behaviour that came with it yesterday.

None of it was understandable or acceptable but you just knew it was always going to happen.

And it's got nothing to do with mixed messaging from the government. It happened because people are selfish and most don't care about the consequences of their actions so long as they don't have to deal with them.

If you could prove there would be even one extra death as a result of it, clearly it's not worth it and if you could personalise that story maybe it'd be different. But you can't.

It's been 30 years...but it's really not a big ask to hold off on large gatherings until a later time when a parade takes place. The title win has been phenomenal but at the end of the day, it's just football.
