Celebrating from home doesn’t mean you can’t go outside at all. You can still have drink and you can still meet up with mates. All we were asked to do was keep things low key for now and wait a little longer for the big celebration.

It wasn’t a big ask and Cummings, sunny weather and other people being idiots elsewhere doesn’t excuse ignoring it. Nor do those things excuse all the anti-social behaviour that came with it yesterday.
They were asked not to have parties at all, they were asked not to congregate en masse on beaches. Guess what, they did it anyway. They did it because they don't believe a word the government says any more and they're fed up of the lockdown. If you want millions of people to act differently you need to be clear and show you mean it. This was always going to happen, it's going to happen again and again, and if this is a hot summer you can expect it to be happening even more than usual. The kids out there don't give a **** what you think.

I'm genuinely amazed anyone thought it was going to go any other way, it's not unique to football, and it's certainly not unique to LFC.

There's no contradiction there. He said it doesn't excuse it, and arguing that people don't give a **** doesn't really counter that.

People weren’t asked not to celebrate at all. They were simply asked to keep it at home.

I’m not sure many are necessarily surprised and I know it’s not unique to anything.

You're confusing reasons with excuses, understandably, because it can be a tricky one. The reason no-one is taking any notice is because most people don't give a **** what the authorities say any more because it's not clear, and at worst, contradictory, and because of that (we're still on reason here), they don't give a ****. And when you put that up against a growing desire to grow out and have fun, it's pretty clear which way the battle is starting to go.

Absolutely, but there's a signficant part of the population, mainly young people, who just don't care any more. That's just the way it is. This summer is going to be an interesting one. Just to clarify by the way, when I said "they don't give a **** what you think" I meant in the sense of "what one thinks". What you and I think doesn't really matter at all to them of course.

I think that the people that are out celebrating would probably be out somewhere perhaps at the beach or something because the weather is nice and the government are lifting restrictions, whether we had won the league or not. I'm not trying to excuse them as personally I think it'a stupid thing to do. Obviously the fact that they are all gathering together is the problem, also the fact that they can be identified as LFC fans does our reputation damage.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I wish the 4-0 drubbing of Palace was the way that we won it but beggars can’t be choosers . Watching the chavs beat City ( and cheering for them ) made me feel somewhat dirty but after the 30 year wait I’ll take it however it comes. It was somewhat anti-climatic as we had such an unassailable lead as compared to a CL Final but it was so much better on the nerves at the same time. Klopp really has managed to get the best out of our players & we’ll replace a few like Lovren, Lallana & Clyne & players like Jones, Williams & Elliot should see more game time. The future looks brighter than it has for many a year.

A special shoutout to my Dad who passed away in 2013 for ensuring that I grew up loving our great Club as much as he did. I’ve done the same with my son too. He was away with a dozen friends staying On nearby South Stradbroke Island so I took the rest of my family on a boat ride over there yesterday morning & the 3 of us fellow Reds shared a celebration beer together. YNWA through n through.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Fair play. I’d expect us to do the same.

I think Peps class to be honest. The club clearly are deeply compromised with the finances. And their supporters are insanely jealous for a team that came from nowhere and won the League a load of times. But I think there is a genuine mutual respect between Pep and Klopp.

Manchester City's players will give new Premier League champions Liverpool a guard of honour at Etihad Stadium on Thursday, says Pep Guardiola.

It will be Liverpool's first game since their 30-year wait for a league title was ended after City lost at Chelsea.

"We are going to do the guard of honour of course," said City boss Guardiola.

"We will greet Liverpool, when they come to our house, in an incredible way. We are going to do it because they deserve it."

Meanwhile, Guardiola has again refused to say whether he will be willing to extend his City contract when it expires in 2021.

You just know Pep is using it as motivational tool though, to drive his players to make sure they don't have to do it again next season.

Based on that article I suspect he might be gone the end of next season. I think he's waiting to see if City get banned from Europe but even if they aren't me might not fancy staying longer.

I think they might struggle to sign players this summer or even extend contracts of some existing ones.

Players go to City for the money and to play for Pep.

They will struggle without him for sure.

RIP, I’m sure he’s looking down on you, smiling!! I was thinking the other day how this must all be so bitter-sweet for so many people that have lost someone over the years, that they would be sharing this with.

Their relationship is fascinating. Lots of respect but no real friendship it seems. I wonder when they quit will they sit down and about it all.

Does anyone have any idea how much winning the league has cost us?

I've read two articles in the last couple of days, one mentioning bonuses we will need to pay Southampton and another today that we will owe Arsenal money.

And of course I'm sure the squad & coaching staff will have earned some nice bonuses.

Worth every penny of course but I'm just wondering how much that might be influencing our transfer budget this summer.

I bet the payouts are higher than the winnings.
