Still don't think we'll win it this year, and if that's the case I'm not sure I'll have the motivation to keep following the game as I have. The continual tweaking of the rules to make the sport progressively worse, the lack of spontaneity caused by VAR, the seemingly worsening quality of football punditry.. sure, I'm in a downer over this result, but I think it's more or a general sentiment that's building.

Can we all finally agree going into a season with 6.5 defenders was completely ****ing stupid?3rd place. Worst champions ever.

It's a ****ing pantomime, and doesn't at all resemble the game we all fell in love with. If I could flick a switch and walk away, find something better to do, I would. But I can't.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostStill don't think we'll win it this year, and if that's the case I'm not sure I'll have the motivation to keep following the game as I have. I hate what it's become. I was in favour of VAR and thought it worked well in that World Cup. We couldn't have envisaged what it would become but clearly I was wrong to be in favour. It's completely ruining the game. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Me too . I've said it all along, bringing var into a contact game which has emotion at its heart will always fail. This isn't football we're watching its like a **** equivilant version of WWE.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostIt's a ****ing pantomime, and doesn't at all resemble the game we all fell in love with. This season the league isn't going to be won by the best side it will be the one who is luckiest with injuries and manages to get 11 players on the pitch by the end of the season
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

So if we win, you’ll follow the game, but it we don’t win, you won’t? If we win next year, will you start following again?!
I agree that VAR has been a load of ****e, but come on!I don't tip

The coming over to the monitor at least gives the illusion of the on field official changing his decision. I am sceptical about this because I can't remember a case where the official has gone over to the monitor and not changed the decision (perhaps someone can correct me if I am wrong), but to me this smacks of the VAR official making the decision and the process being a facade, or at least puts the referee under pressure that someone else thinks he made the wrong call so puts him under pressure to change it.Originally posted by Big-Red-Ed View PostThe problem with VAR is its totally undermining the referee. Let them do the offsides but all the rest they can just keep their noses out if it.

Compare and contrast the public reaction to Salah and Wellbeck going down after being kicked on the foot.
I can't tell you what it was but I listened to the end of the game on 5live as I was out and about. They said on 24 of 25 occasions the ref has looked at the screen the decision has been overturned. So 25 of 26 now.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostThe coming over to the monitor at least gives the illusion of the on field official changing his decision. I mentioned that earlier the same people saying that were calling Mane or Salah divers are saying that that is as clear a penalty as you'll see
I'd like to think most of them are just trolls but I'm not sure that's the case.
Ok thanks I stand corrected, but I still wasn't far offOriginally posted by ChesterDave View PostI can't tell you what it was but I listened to the end of the game on 5live as I was out and about.
