Some teams such as West Ham/Everton, maybe even Utd to an extent benefit I think because their fans aren’t there to get on the backs of the teams after 30 mins without a goal.

To be honest football misses fans, with the exception of a few clubs in the world (City for example) they could all argue that their need for fans is greater. Having no fans in theory should make it easier for bigger sides to win away but that hasn’t been there with us......

We are all looking for reasons, excuses or someway to validate this season when we have been near perfect for 2 seasons. It’s a perfect storm of a **** show for us - serious injuries in the one area in the squad we couldn’t compensate, Covid to many of our players, been on the wrong side of so many marginal VARtrocites, shocking refereeing even outside of VAR, players off form at the same time and luck. Luck is so unquantifiable but we’ve been on the wrong end of the bounce of the ball so many times.

A lot of that will come right/even itself out and we are not as bad as we’ve shown. I think the league is gone now (maybe not if we buy a CB) but I genuinely want us to focus on top 4......it would be a disaster not to qualify. The CL might be interesting if we had Jota, Naby and Matip fit and available for the rest of the season

This season we have been decimated by all sorts of **** & players playing out of position; you take Ali, VVD, Joe, Fab, Matip, Mo, Hendo even Jota, Thiago, Millie, Ox & Keita out of our options & of course we are going to suffer.

The shape is awful at present with midfielders playing in unfamiliar positions, the team constantly changing & not just one or two positions +3 different keepers, 7 different CB's, Gini overused to an extraordinary level; it is no wonder 1/2 way thru the season we appear, confused, devoid of ideas & mentally ****ed.

When Ox gets the ball in the right position he looks great, even at times on Thursday, he plays with pace and always looks forward. It’s just that position is never on the right wing. Don’t understand why he is an option for right wing, it never works.

Yeah he's utterly useless out wide and he's not technically good enough to play out wide either, his first touch is so poor. He is quick and direct and that be very effective but he's just not a versatile player (I don't know why I thought he would be when he joined). That's not even mentioning his injury record & unfortunately he will be injured soon just like Matip. Honestly, I just cannot see him being here for much longer as we are not getting value for money.

City are flying, banging in goals and not conceding. No aguero, no kdb either and still putting teams to the sword.

Crumb of comfort is it shows how quickly things can change. Back in November ish City were sterile as ****, not creating many good chances and looked all out of ideas. Even in Bilic's last game for West Brom City drew with them at home. Not a single City fan I know thought they could win it and they're gonna walk it now. It's probably too much and too late for us to turn it around enough to win the league again this season, but the funk we're in won't last forever.
