A few weeks ago, I didn't think we'd make 5th let alone 3rd. Really not sure how we did it but I'm over the moon.
I'm particularly delighted for Klopp. He's done everything in his power to protect all Premiership players (probably over did it at the start of the season). He also lost his mum and couldn't attend her funeral. Not once has he hidden. Not once has he criticised any of our players (even when they were throwing tantrums for not being captain or starting a game).
Having said that, thank **** the season is over. The quality of football has been awful. Not just our football but all football. Premier league games (during a pandemic and) without fans is ****. I'm not being disrespectful to City. They were the most consistent side. The best side. But they hardly got out of second gear. All other teams averaged less than 2 points a game. That's incredible.
Can't wait for next season.Another MASSIVE game

VAR is a joke it's application is inconsistent and it is skewing results based on poor or inconsistent decisions. Some might even say certain conscious or subconscious biases. Look at that 2nd Leicester pen yesterday Vardy links arms with the defender and throws himself to the ground and no one even questions itOriginally posted by Pepe79 View Post
The most damning thing for me is the red cards that VAR have given that the FA have reviewed and overturned. If the FA can overturn them on the basis of video evidence how come VAR allowed them to be made in the first place on the same evidence? Again no one had questioned it.
I get that the more attacking teams are likely to suffer more than average but that is much more than you would reasonably expect IMOLast edited by Exiled_red; 24-05-21, 05:51 PM.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

So, if it was not for the 87 + 95 minute goals conceeded to Leeds and Newcastle, we would have got 30 points from our last 10 games.
I dont remember us playing particularly great in any of them, although there was a marked improvement against Palace at the end (the crowd?). And that is without VVD Matip, Gomez, Henderson... and with the likes of Ox and Keita missing for most of it.
I dont think we were going to win the league this year, because of those injuries, but if it was not for the mid season dip we should have finished comfortably in 2nd place.
I guess the biggest thing to address is the lethargic play for most of this season. The obvious thing to blame is the injuries, and the lack of rest some of these players have had the past few seasons.
If players can stay fit, and we add a bit of energy to the midfield, then I think we have a good shot next season. I do think we need to add some quality at fullback too. If Neco and the Greek are not up at the level we need to allow us to rest Robbo and TAA.In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

Really? Our performances away to Arsenal and Utd were excellent.Originally posted by Charly View PostSo, if it was not for the 87 + 95 minute goals conceeded to Leeds and Newcastle, we would have got 30 points from our last 10 games.

Saints, Burnley and Palace were the sort of unfussy, controlled wins that we churned out all through last season to walk to the title..
