He wasn’t saying it to celebrate the achievement of finishing in the top 4... he was defending us from the criticism of being the worst champions ever etc... so I don’t see any harm in saying the only team bar city... if he had said us and city are the only teams, would it still “get on your norbs”?!

No it wouldn't as it didn't us up as the 'only', only to be followed with a 'oh except these lot too'.

There's a distinction, the latter being deceitful and it gets on my norbs.
