Lincoln City vs Liverpool - EFL Cup (3rd Round)

I had no idea Caraboa was an energy drink. I'm not sure they are getting a decent return on investment sponsoring this?

Quite looking forward to this as it goes. Obviously not the most important game we will ever play, but it sounds like we will get to see Diogo Jota's debut. I've not ever consciously noticed him before so I'm keen to see what he has got.

Also Minamino began pre season well.

I've no idea what the team will be?

    ------------------------------Adrian

    Williams-------Gomez-------VDB/Phillips/Billy K----------Tsmikas

    -----------------------------Milner

    --------Keita--------------------------------------Jones

    Origi--------------------Minamino---------------------------Jota

I would assume Adrian, Williams, Tsmikas, Milner, Jones, Minamino and Jota would all be nailed on to start. For me the main questions are whether the rest of the spots are filled up with first teamers, players we want to put in the shop window or players who we expect to be squad players for the rest of the season.

Wasn't there a suggestion that Thiago might be involved? Someone mentioned that in the other thread, I find that a bit surprising but who knows
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

No Gomez or Billy as far as I know - Sepp and Rhys Williams will play at CB according to reports. Doubt Milner that deep and I wouldn’t be surprised if Thiago played an hour. Also I suspect no Naby - he seems to be on a strict 1hr per week game time at the moment.

Jones at RB and CM - Neco

So apart from that, he's nailed it?
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

                  Joyce in The Times

It remains to be seen whether either Thiago or Jota will feature at Lincoln, who are currently second in the table under manager Michael Appleton.

The likes of Curtis Jones, Takumi Minamino, Divock Origi, Kostas Tsimikas and Xherdan Shaqiri all need minutes, while Liverpool are also considering handing a debut to 19-year-old centre-back Rhys Williams. He stands at 6ft 5in, an inch taller than Virgil van Dijk, and spent last season on loan at Kidderminster Harriers.

It is unlikely Rhian Brewster or Harry Wilson will be risked with Liverpool prepared to sell them both. Crystal Palace and Sheffield United have both expressed an interest in Brewster, while Burnley have opened discussions on Wales international Wilson.

Can't even see the trophy! I'd rather win the two cans.

I watched Rhys Williams a good few times last season. He looked good on the ball but didn't stand out THAT much for Kidderminster and whilst tall he wasn't built like VVD. Will be interesting to see how he does, us dominating the ball might suit him.

Pep said yesterday that the squad will be strong so expecting plenty of fringe players. I'd keep Thiago well away from this but again, he needs to learn how to play with us as Pep said so he may get a run out.

There's a chance he might start this one too rather than come on later in the game.

The dynamics should be a bit more intense at the start which is one of the things he'll need to get used to.

Yeah I'd rather Thiago started and got 45-60 mins.

Excited to see him, Jota and Tsimikas.
