What ever happened to all the mini triangle formations that helped up pass through any midfield. All I ever see is side and back passing.

Firmino, for all the times I'm told he's crucial for us, made a very poor hard pass to Robertson when a gentle roll would have got a shot, maybe goal. Then the ball that Yedlin cleared should have been better to Salah. To cap it off a non goal scoring striker did what he does, he didn't score from a simple header. A really simple header.
I know Mane and Salah have been poor but Firmino is meant to make them tick right? Well they are not ticking for reasons. One tit for another.

Yeah I get it but anyone would think we were getting beat. Only HT. We’ll win this.Originally posted by Tribute View Post...it’s the frustration that comes from us hitting a sticky patch and ****e teams like United closing the gap by scoring last minute winners and getting penalties for fun...

Ha. Guilty. If we weren't playing like we're two up in a cup final and showed some ****ing urgency I'd be pleased. That midfield 3 is horrible. Slow, negative sideways bull****. It's rubbish. I'm worried we're going to give up the title with a wimper. It's a pattern against **** teams. The more shots the more chance of scoring. Jota is massive for us, he's better than the others on this seasons form. Links play, dribbles, two footed.Originally posted by Peter_Griffin View Post**** me. We definitely need an injection of magic, we've become quite stale and predictable. Its not working as often as last season, which is understandable with the loss of VVD, but then he was fit against Villa. I don't think the tension between Salah and Mane is helping the harmony either. Luckily, we have Thiago set to come back and that quality will be the magic we're missing. I do however believe that if he's injured again for a significant period, we can kiss goodbye to the league.Glass half empty club

I don't think we are trying to score the perfect goal, rather the forwards struggle against a well regimented defence that sits back and doesn't leave acres of space for the speed merchants to exploit. Even when they are playing well the forwards give the ball away a lot - they can't routinely beat players with pure skill one-on-one to draw other defenders and create space/chances for team mates so the ball ends up being shunted from side to side, often culminating with a hopeful ball hoisted into the box.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostI think our attacking play has evolved to the point that we are trying to score the perfect goal or walk the ball into the net, this can be seen from the number of shots we have been having has been reduced on last year.

We look stale as well, certainly more stale than we've been used to. This team is capable of better than this and that is the frustrating part. Apart from a few very good results we've been generally off the boil since it became well obvious we were going to cruise to the title last year.Originally posted by Tribute View Post...it’s the frustration that comes from us hitting a sticky patch and ****e teams like United closing the gap by scoring last minute winners and getting penalties for fun...
Anyway, it's a football internet forum, what do people expect when we're not playing well, incence and peppermints? It's either going to be you or Mrs Venton who's going to kop it and she's a lot more frightening than you shower.Experimental music, Metropolitan foodstuffs, Mexican wrestler art, London suburbia, wry whimsy, fansy pants flim flam lad
