Hendo (or Gini), Thiago and Shaq massively ramps up the unpredictability and creativity, and given we'll have a lot of the ball I think it'd be ideal. We're likely to go into the game 2nd in the table ffs, 3 points behind those cunts, so that should be a rocket up our arses. That plus a long overdue shake up in the XI would give me a lot more confidence than I'd been banking on.
Gini, Thiago & Shaq in midfield with Hendo partnering Fab at CB if Matip isn’t ready? Very creative midfield that is.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

We're at our best playing quick passes in and around the opponents box. We'll have loads of ball v United and they'll try and follow the West Brom template, with much better quality on the break. So let's give them something different to think about and try and be more creative through the middle with Thiago and Shaq, instead of relying on Trent and Robbo who will have to be very watchful of Rashford in the channels on the counter.
he has craft and he was brilliant delivery. Way ahead of Taki and Ox imo.

As grim as it is if Matip doesn't make it I'd go with Rhys. I'd rather make the midfield as strong as possible and try to dominate the ball, the game, and it's a game that will suit Henderson imo (or Gini tbh). We coped v Spurs - albeit only just and they did us on the break a few times - but I hope and think the Hendo at CB experiment is finished with already.

As you say we’ll likely dominate possession & they’ll look to hit us on the counter which is Rhys’s cryptonite if we play our usual high line. I don’t like Hendo at CB either but needs must on this occasion surely.

Christ if matip doesn't make it, can see Gini playing CH instead of the young uns or Hendo.

Will definitely need hendo's leadership in midfield against them

Hendo will be CB partner to Fab. Gini, Thiago and Milner/Ox.

Don't think Jones is trusted in that type of match, Shaq will be saved for a sub appearance if needed, so if Hendo is at CB, who else is there? Naby gonna be fit?

I wonder why we started in our 433 with functional midfielders today? Seemed the perfect chance to see something else. But I agree with those saying Shaqiri should start to give us that extra dimension.

Only availability would stop this being the team I would think, in regard to tonight’s match I would say that it’s probably hard to bring your “A game” against opposition who you know you are so better than (based mainly on playing in the garden against nephews etc) very different from how it will feel up against our historic rivals next up

Are they on the minibus because none of them are old enough to drive?

Fair play to them, they actually conceded less than our first team did against theirs.

The presenters on BT Sport said some of them were dropped off at Villa Park by their parents.
