I’d forgot what it was like on here when we aren’t winning all the time

I genuinely feel a lot happier after that game. There are things that we need to happen - but we played well for large parts of the game and we’re on top from equalising right up to the free kick. A couple of fantastic passages of play and passing.

    Things are tough no doubt.

We need to get Bobby fired up before he goes on the pitch because on form he makes things happen, he is way too casual at times. Hopefully Jota back soon.

It’s just the playing a guy who was playing non league last season at the back every other game that’s an issue.
I decided to give it a miss tonight to keep my sanity - just saw the score (we scored ) and popped in here

A mix of we are doomed and all our players are **** (197 points in the last two seasons players btw) vs this is a blip

I’m somewhere in the middle but closer to the latter - looking forward to Thursday now

The CB issue is what is angering people as its so unnecessary. We gambled in the summer not replacing Lovren and lads got injured. We had to play square pegs in round holes for months up until the window. I doubt there is any LFC fan who didn't think we weren't going to address the issue in the Jan window and we haven't and it is costing us points. Not only do we see defensive mistakes from guys that should not be playing in those positions, the whole balance of the team has been thrown off by taking these players away from other vital areas.

It's a very frustrating scenario and when you hear your manager saying he wanted a CB but wasn't given the money for one, it's a bitter pill to swallow. Yes, their are economic factors at play and things going on behind the scenes but not winning the league, getting knocked out of cups and not qualifying for champs league next year is in itself worth hundreds of millions and that is a potential prospect.

We have taken a massive risk and we have paid the price. Looking at what this club has achieved over the last few years it just seems so incredibly bizarre.

Incredibly depressed yet again but, desperately looking for a positive, I think there were some promising signs in spells and it gives us something to work with.

I thought it was a free kick - Fabinho kicked through him.

It's harsh but Rhys shouldn't play for us again, he is painfully out of his depth and it was glaringly obvious he was gonna cost us today. Looks League Two level.

          We played well.

Each goal was down to defensive mistake. We had great attacking shape and made some decent chances. Utd are a much improved team there wasn’t much between us.

We definitely don’t need the distraction of FA cup. Spurs away next. Intriguing game.

...if Klopp wanted a CB it should have been sanctioned. No questions asked.
The price of a decent CB isn’t going to have much impact on the finances of the club I don’t care why people on here say... it’s a drop in the ocean in the grand scheme of things. Hell, the owners could have used their own money - it’s ****ing peanuts compared to the numbers they’re managing in the US and here.

Sorry but I cannot stand your moaning and negativity. You thrive on that and you are nowhere to be seen when we do well.

As for the argument the club won’t give him the money, there was a pot at the beginning of the season but we chose to spend it on Jota and Thiago. Surely if there is no money available, then there is no money available and complaining won’t change that.

Klopp has never done so, it was an article which portrayed as if he was complaining.
                Are we winning?

I feel depressed. With life itself and this ****fest that isn't real football.

                      It’s a weird one.

Would be good if the owners could spell out exactly why we can’t sign anyone. We can speculate but they should perhaps tell us exactly what their long term position is factoring in the current global climate.

nowhere to be seen when we win, probably best to go back and look at past games before you make up silly stuff Nigel. You're angry like all of us, I don't mind you cursing me out, I don't take offence at all. Is what it is, match thread emotions run high but saying I am not here when we win is just plain lies.

Klopp wasn't complaining, I don't get what you are talking about? I had this conversation with you in the Klopp thread and I said he is too much of a classy guy to criticise the owners in public but make no mistake about it he has achieved miracles here and if wants a CB it should be made happen. It didn't happen in the summer and we paid the price for the gamble and they didn't sanction the funds in this window and we are paying the price now.

Economics always come into it but if we lose out on champs league football that will be more financially devastating than money for a CB. The knock on effects of that too are potentially devastating. Short term pain, long term gain.

We are relying on Matip and Fabinho who isn't even a CB to stay fit all season, that's just ****ing daft.

                                I know what you said.
And I said they won’t. Not will. Not might. Won’t.

                                I don’t know what you’re arguing.

They won’t panic. They know what they have in Klopp. Do you think stay believe someone else could do better in these circumstances? Or in any circumstances?
