Strange alright, it must be incredibly frustrating for Klopp though. We don't squander money usually and seem to sell to buy and recoup in most windows. I just believe fsg after what has happened to the club in the last few years won't stretch to potentially save our season. I just see it as so short sighted and so unnecessary. Klopp can only do so much, maybe they think he once again pull out another miracle with a decimated defence.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostIt’s a weird one.
Would be good if the owners could spell out exactly why we can’t sign anyone. We can speculate but they should perhaps tell us exactly what their long term position is factoring in the current global climate.

You're angry like all of us, I don't mind you cursing me out, I don't take offence at all. Is what it is, match thread emotions run high but saying I am not here when we win is just plain lies.
Klopp wasn't complaining, I don't get what you are talking about? I had this conversation with you in the Klopp thread and I said he is too much of a classy guy to criticise the owners in public but make no mistake about it he has achieved miracles here and if wants a CB it should be made happen. It didn't happen in the summer and we paid the price for the gamble and they didn't sanction the funds in this window and we are paying the price now.
Economics always come into it but if we lose out on champs league football that will be more financially devastating than money for a CB. The knock on effects of that too are potentially devastating. Short term pain, long term gain.
We are relying on Matip and Fabinho who isn't even a CB to stay fit all season, that's just ****ing daft.
It’s not daft it’s unfortunate.
I am grateful that we have a manager and owners who won’t panic, unlike a few of you around here. Are we winning?

Nice to see glimpses of the old Firmino back in the second half. Aside from our issues at CB, his form has been a major worry.
If he can take that performance into the next couple of weeks then I think our strikeforce will have enough to bail us out for the lack of recognised CB at the back.

It's absolutely daft having 2 regularly fit CBs, both are children, one even has wooden legs. It's daft relying on Matip who cannot play 2 games a week without getting injured and it is daft having to play two on the most highly functional and effective midfielders at CB, it's also daft buying a world class footballing midfielder and him having to do the donkey work because you had to take two of the most functional and effective midfielders out of midfield and play them at CB because we were too frugal to address the massive CB shaped hole in our defence.Originally posted by Fredo View PostIt’s not daft it’s unfortunate.

We are all grateful to have Klopp as a manager. It's not about panicking, it's reality.

The reality is not to panic.

It’s offering the opposition such a huge morale boost to have to play such a weakened back 2.

These are all true
I know this might sound a bit crazy but I actually thought we were back
to our usual self today; well, as good as can be with a makeshift CB pairing and other injuries. Anyone with any footballing sense will know that they are at the other end of the scale with their fortunes but we were still the better side.
A lot of positives. Just not having a recognised CB pairing really sucks. Can’t really spin that into any positive.
