During that fantastic run were weren't blowing sides away every game. Plenty of 1 - 0's and 2 - 1's.

13 of the first 27 games last season were won by the odd goal. Those are very tight margins.

The Villa and Sheff Utd away games (1- 2 and 0 - 1) spring to mind as games from last season that we wouldn't have won this season.

Absolutely, it's not like we beat them all 5-0 but we controlled the games much better, pressed harder and higher, won the ball back much more consistently, recycled it back to the front more quickly and, more importantly, looked tight as a duck's arse at the back. Our play now is chalk and cheese compared to that, and that decline was apparent towards the back end of last season, as shown by the gubbing Watford gave us.
