Not to mention many more years of his managerial career that amounted to little more than irrelevance.

Although I don't think he is anything more than an angry badly failed manager that will rail against whatever club is not doing well at the time. Look at how often he got stuck into the Mancs last season. Think with Keane he knows that the only way he gets a bit of attention is to have a bitter moan against whatever big club is not doing well.

Then you have the "experts" on everything like Carragher, Neville and Redknapp chirping up as if any of them had any bit of decent managerial experience between them, and picking faults whenever they can, even last season.

Perspective? It's 11 young fellas running around in shorts doing something we have zero influence on.

Poor old angry Keane has got himself typecast as the angry pundit who you wouldn't mess with. If he doesn't perform to script they will have no use for him.

He is the TV version of most of us on here. We angrily type words whereas he gets to anrily say them on camera.

Then he and us go back out into the real world and go back to being polite mild mannered gimps who say sorry a lot.

I'm not so sure Keane ever does polite and reserved.

Well, well, well. Must admit I’d forgotten this.

What happened when an all conquering Man Utd team lost one key centre half for less than half a season.

Bloody hell we're playing ****. Is it really so bad that an ex Utd stalwart that wears his heart on his sleeve decides the boot in on us? What's the issue? He's had a go at utd plenty over the last few seasons. He was a ******* as a player so I assume he'll be similar as a pundit. Klopp is more than capable of sticking up for himself and hardly helped matters by getting involved in a petty altercation with des Kelly earlier on. People like Keane know they can provoke him now and it's as good a time as any to put the boot in. If we looked a little more inventive going forwards and klopp didn't make strange delayed subs and we actually won a few games against the **** teams, people like Keane would have nothing to moan about.

At times some of our uber fans like Tompkins get all precious and make us look whiney ****s.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

It’s a perspective thread, Bob. I thought the thread offered a relevant example of what happened to another title defending team when they had a similar, but far less severe situation.

The Keane stuff is just a minor detail, but he still contradicted himself as a pundit, and it’s tiring listening to pundits talking ****.

I loved Keane as a player even though he was United and he ****ed Ireland over a few times. He was unparalleled with his determination and will to win.

This clearly never translated to anything remotely managerial because he bombed multiple times and his will to win alienated players. Even his punditry is a ****ing joke - punch him, desire, bottle blah blah blah. He is a ****ing dinosaur on tv for controversy and nothing else. The problem is there are so many gob****es out there who lap up whatever tripe Sky serves them that they believe the bull**** they peddle.

There are few if any “pundits” I listen to especially not ex Liverpool and United players - Jan Molby is one of the few exceptions

Keane is totally shocking as a pundit. All those articles (I didn’t read the Tompkins one) are bang on. And it’s not just with us, he only exists to be cajoled into saying something controversial. He offers zero analysis other than the ‘back when we were winning titles’ comparison which gets trotted out every single game. He and Souness are awful summarisers.

He seems a really weird guy to me, I think he has some sort of personality disorder. How did he get chosen to be a pundit when he is so miserable all of the time?

He just says controversial stuff which gets people talking that's why they want him, I don't think they care that he's a **** pundit they just need those one liners.
