Wouldn't make much difference other than making MOTD more entertaining on the last day. If we won our game you'd have Leicester on 67, us on 66 and Chelsea on 65, all with very similar goal difference. You'd have lots of twists and turns as goals go in during the 90 minutes.Originally posted by Scratch View PostDoes a draw between Chelsea and Leic mean anything for us, in that we could afford to draw one of the final 2 games, or is it win both for us no matter what?
Edit: Nevermind, a draw does nothing for us really.

I think if they draw we’ll have a great chance of getting third spot! We win both our games, to guarantee top 4 and if leicester even draw vs spurs last day, we get 3rd spot. And if we were to draw with burnley and win last day, we’d need chelsea to at least draw last day or need leicester to lose to maybe catch them on goal difference
If chelsea win 1-0 and we win 1-0, we’ll go into last game level with leicester and 2 goals ahead. Least preferable, but not the worst situation in the world to be in. If we beat palace 2-0 at anfield, they’d need to beat spurs 4-0, etc.. and if at the same time chelsea draw with Villa, we’d get 3rd spot.
If leicester beat chelsea 1-0 and we draw with burnley we would go into the last game level with Chelsea on points and goal difference! If leicester beat chelsea they have secured top 4 for themselves. If they then lose to spurs last day, we could potentially scrape 3rd spot on goal difference with 2 wins.
This is a very complicated case, Scratch. You know, a lotta ins, lotta outs, lotta what-have-you's. And, uh, lotta strands to keep in my head, man. Lotta strands in old Duder's head.I don't tip

Leicester win or a draw definitely the best result(s) for us. A Chelsea win could leave this to goal difference, which is so, so tight at the moment. I can't see any of these games (including ours) resulting in a big score, unless Burnley concedes like they did against Leeds, which is unlikely for them two games on the bounce.
It's going to be nail biting stuff until the end I'm afraid.
Are we winning?

What a brilliant end to the season! You couldn't have scripted it any better with a first away win to our bitterest rivals in 15 years, a 95th minute winner from the goal keeper, and the two teams above us about to play each other and with similar goal difference to ours.
If we make top four then all things considered, it's been a great season. Was muß, das muß.

This. The amount of times they drag me back in....Originally posted by Buzzo View PostWednesday night at 8:15.
We have to be buzzing after yesterday. We don't want all that effort, luck, gods intervention, miracle, etc. to have been for nothing.
I would be up for us racing into an early three goal lead tbh. The amount of times I have totally and completely accepted we aren't getting top four only for us to haul ourselves back into the race is getting ridiculous. Yesterday I was absolutely at peace with it, even as the corner went in yesterday. What a strange season.

If they have fans there then they may not sit back and defend for 90 minutes. Never a bad thingOriginally posted by S-RED View PostSo Burnley can only have 25% capacity for this game or is it 10K; if 10K then thats a half full stadium, which is a big advantage.

I think fans can motivate most sets of players.
When you listen to the current squad on where they enjoy playing most it’s the likes of Old Trafford where the hostility motivates them.
Based on the lethargy we sometimes show I think fans can only help us. No matter whose fans they are.Modifying post.

With the Chavs beating Leicester, we now have to win tonight by a couple of goals to make Sunday slightly less nail-biting. We're only +1 better on GD than Leicester so if we can get a few tonight, that would put the pressure on Leicester to go all out attack against Spuds.
A fast start is needed, an early goal for us and Burnley's fans will urge them forward so we might be able to pick them off with another couple in the second half. One thing's for sure, we need our ****ing shooting boots on tonight lads... none of this 29 shots on goal and 1 on target ****e... we need a showcase in clinical finishing.
We know Kane's going to be gunning for the golden boot so he'll be his usual diving, backing-in, poaching, spawny self on Sunday against Leicester... so that could be a tight one unless Spuds just capitulate.
