We seem to like to give new improved contracts to players who are at their peak, and about to plummet.

Seems to me he is playing all sides at present.


If I was one of the suits I would have made a final offer, if we wanted to keep him, then moved onto having informal talks with the reps of our targets to replace him as soon as he said no.

It's going to be an adventure with a declining Virgil, erratic (putting it politely) Konate, and 2 young, inexperienced and new-to-the-league (fitness permitting) centre-backs.

I dont know. We got rid of a defender who was not only top class but got us into the CL single handedly. Meanwhile konate has cost us many games this season by being by and large garbage. He's staying on my transfer list.
