The Diouf, Diao, Cheyrou signings were the worst business we have done.

Considering what Heskey did for us and the money we recovered, I would say he gave us good value overall.

Diouf, first his fee and second his very high wages.

Definitely Diouf. Heskey was great in his first season(s), Cisse scored 18 goals, which was far more than our strikers who played in front of a goal. If he hadn't beed playing just on the right wing, I believe he would have scored even more. And Pennant... Well, he didn't cost 14M, I think we paid 7M (and could rise to 8M). He isn't THAT bad, but he still needs to prove himself.

SO, all in all, El-Hadji Diouf was the worst value signing for me! Without a shadow of a doubt.

diouf - not even up for debate.

whats the script with the 14 mill price tag for pennant though??

Diouf for me...as diao is just a poor player and did not tack the liverpool name through the muck like old diouf and his spitting habit
Just look at the face: it's vacant, with a hint of sadness. Like a drunk who's lost a bet.

Why have Heskey on the list? Yes he cost £11 million but we got back £6 million of it when we sold him to Birmingham.

There are plenty of issues with Heskey the player but the guy was a key player in that treble winning season. I'd take that £5 million loss when you consider his input during his time here.

When you look at it that way there are far more deserving candidates. Leonhardsen, Dundee, Stewart and Cheyrou to name but 4.

Saying that though, its ****ing Diouf. We lost a bomb on him and he let the club down withhis spitting and other antics. Say what you like about Diao, he might be **** but at least he tried.

Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!

Pennant cost nowhere near £14 million, though so far he has been mostly pants.

Diouf shades it for me, if only because I once got Diaos autograph.

He may have been poor after his first season and a half or so but he was ****ing fantastic for us during the treble season and it's not like we didn't get decent money back selling him off.

Heskey doesn't come in to it, IMHO. Diao has to get the nod.
There have been a few bad value signings over the years - here are some other names for you ... not on the same scale as Diao or Diouf, but nonetheless:

                          Phil Babb - 3.6Million (1994 - a huge price then for a defender)
                          Sean Dundee - 2Million (1998 - sold for 1Million in 1999 after 3 games!)
                          Bernard Diomede - 3Million (2000)
Just when I discovered the meaning of life, they changed it

Is the Correct answer - He cost us 4.7 million and wages of 40k/week for 5 years. That equals 15 million pounds. He played 61 games making it 250k / game

                            As for the others mentioned

Heskey cost 11 million and we sold him for 6.25 million
Diouf cost 10 million and we sold him for 3.5 million
Cisse cost 14.5 million and we are hoping to get 8 million back
Pennant cost 6.7 million and we will get back more than 5 million if we want to sell him. He's English and 23 yrs old and contrary to what many think, he'll make it at Liverpool. How can you crucify him after 4 months.
