Even ignoring the quarantine crap, still a better outcome for us than three of our players travelling that far and playing 3 games. (Assuming we beat Leeds of course).

Just poor form from Brazil IMO though. They gain nothing from the ban and it won't deter clubs/players doing it again next month. Any chance of an amicable agreement has just been lessened.

Is it a fine? I don't know how FIFA could enforce it, but I read automatic 3-0 loss.

I guess it is still better than them missing 10 days but is still total BS and is clearly also going to be an issue imat least the next couple of international breaks.

Also the Richarlison thing is bollocks national sides shouldn't be allowed to pick and choose which clubs/players should be punished

It would be fielding an ineligible player so the result of the match could be overturned and/or face points deduction, but that would be for the FA/PL to apply, no doubt FIFA would pressure them to ensure it is applied

Yeah but if he was called up here his absence affected the side the same as any of the others. The fact he was called up and played in other things previously shouldn't be a factor, he/his club did the same as the others, IMO it should be everyone or no-one punished

The international bodies involved FIFA, UEFA and the FA needed to sort this **** out ahead of the international break and definately need to do so before the next one, it was clear that the government weren't make exemptions, so some compromise was required either in rescheduling games or moving locations. I would like to think the players would just retire from international football as a **** you, but that isn't going to happen given how much the Brazil guys love playing for their country. Hopefully at least they can apply pressure because not only will they have missed 3 international games they will be missing 1 or 2 club games as well, there are another couple of international breaks in Oct and Nov where the same are likely to happen. Hopefully the fact some players will miss CL games will mean UEFA will apply pressure too.

Whatever is happening clubs need to know one way or another in order to be able to prepare, I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't sorted out until Friday evening leaving clubs in limbo. This **** storm has been coming for a few weeks and is typical of the football authorities to still be trying to figure out what the hell is happening.
