Mane, Jota and Salah, with Firmino, Minamino, Elliott as back up was fine for the start of the season. Even Origi could have played a part if needed. More than enough at the start of the season, the only way we bring a player in is if they are
    a) of better quality that the 4 main boys
    b) willing to be rotated in and out (unless they are better/fitter than Mo and Mane)
    c) a replacement for an outgoing player. Unfortunately, we had no outgoing forwards that needed replacing.

Early days but it does look like being a close title race this year!

City on October 3rd is already looking massive! We've got "winnable" games until then. City will have just played Chelsea.

Chelsea have Spurs then City as their next two games. Tricky.

I want to dismiss Man United but they have a relatively easy run (don't they always!) and with Ronaldo they really should pick up a lot of points.

If we can beat City on Oct 3rd then I think we'll go from "dark horse" to title favourites.

I can't remember the last time more than one top team had a world class striker.

        Salah
        Lukaku
        Ronaldo
        Kane
        Ings..
        Was muß, das muß.

Just read that Lukaku has 8 touches in final 3rd against Villa and he still scored twice.

For context, Mane had 38 and Matip had 7 against Leeds.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I think it's important we become clinical again soon. Against the likes of City we might only get 2 or 3 opportunities, not 27 like yesterday.

In general I agree but City had 25 shots in their 0-1 win the other day so it's not just us.

It’s not wumming to call you up on constant complaining about our lack of depth. At the moment, these two players should be back in the fold in the next few weeks, so the problem would not be as bad then.

We all know that ideally we need someone who could push Sadio and Mo hard for a starting berth, it’s not happened yet but there’s not point rattling the same thing in here when we start missing a few chances, it’s ****ing tiresome.
                  Are we winning?

Only four games, but we've been very good. It's reasonable to be worried about injuries to players like Firmino and Elliott*. Both key players that offer something different. If we can be lucky with injuries and remain tight at the back, we have a really good chance of competing for the title.

*Mad after four games that Elliott has created such an impression and is considered a key first team player. Don't think anyone had him as a starter (especially in midfield) before the season started.
                      Another MASSIVE game

Agreed. I was as annoyed as anyone that we didn’t strengthen more, in the summer, but it’s done, we still have a decent team, who have played well in the first 4 games. Stop moaning and get behind the team ffs.

Our transfer team is the best in the business, we must trust them. They don’t buy for the sake of it. They likely have a plan for the next 2 Windows already- maybe the player we want is not yet available but will be in January for example. We saw that with vvd, konate, etc.. in both cases we wanted them to sign someone in those positions in the earlier window, but LFC waited to get the player they really wanted. We’ve seen this summer how frustrating it is having players in the squad, that you want to get rid of, but can’t find a buyer- costing money and taking up places in the squad. So there’s no point in buying someone for the sake of it, if we can’t get the targets that we really wanted.

We don’t have the same luxury that our competitors have, of being able to spend big on players and then leave them sitting on the bench when it doesn’t work out.. the reds have got no money, but we’ll still win the league
                        I don't tip

Looks like it's going to be four teams in the running for the title (Us, City, Utd and Chelsea) or even five if Spurs up their game. If City had bought a top class striker they'd probably walk the league but they've let Aguero go and brought in Grealish who wasn't really what they needed. It's going to be tight.

Feel like we have a good opportunity next two games- playing palace at home and then brentford away.

In the same time chelsea play spurs and city. If we don’t slip up in those two, I could see us being stand alone top of the league.

And then the big one- home to city. Will be a tough game, but if we have a bit of a lead over them in the table, the pressure will be all on them. If we win our next 3 league games, I’ll be pretty confident at winning #20!!

So a year off the Caffeine supplements, I think it's safe to say the lads are back on them having looked at the energy in the team this season.

I know articles have surfaced on here about caffeine, including the 1 year off plan, but I'm just very surprised it doesn't get mentioned in mainstream media, especially the risks.
