Thanjk you.

If this is true I don't see how it's anything other than an insurmountable problem for us. Depressing. What a ****ing scandal to have an international tournament in the middle of domestic seasons.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
I think the 8 games is a worst case scenarios. I read that clubs were looking to have the players until Jan 3rd.
It would mean teams getting to finals for the full compliment, but which ever way it is clearly a nightmare for us with our two main goal threats away and probably quite likely to progress well in the tournament?
3rd January seems a reasonable release date a week before the tournament, I know that WC etc there players are available for international duty for a much wider window, but those are not in the middle of the season.
The original just Brentford and Palace plus FA cup games was frustrating but manageable. If we lose two of our best players for 6 PL games that's taking the piss. The football calendar is a joke.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

The Premier League is part time competition. Ridiculous.
Though the Afcon Final is Feb 6th. So why would Leicester 9th Feb and Burnley 12th Feb be affected?
Quarantine? Thought players could still play and train?
Anyone read the article?
I imagine that if playing in the final on the 6th, the 9th is probably a bit tight as they won't be flying back until at least the afternoon of the 7th, optimistically back at the club on the 8th to be assessed by the fitness team etc probably only get one or two training sessions with the team before the Leicester game, making it unlikely that they would be picked (or at least start).
I wouldn't be surprised if they are part of the winning squad they are expected to go back to their home country and do press conferences, with the trophy and all that crap...

Yeah considered that about Leicester game, but it’s the same turnaround they often get during International breaks. It may come down to a late decision, but not a definite miss?
Burnley though is almost a week later, I doubt any media/victory obligations will drag on that long.
I am sure Klopp stated previously, the players at the tournament would need a break/reacclimatise time on their return; remembering they are probably not taking their family to the tournament
That they have a 3rd place play off is really infuriating.
Impossible to work out paths due to the varied 3rd place in group rankings but hopefully the end up meeting each other in the knockouts and we get one or 2 back early.
So it'll be Jota and Firmino for all those games up front. Hopefully an extra player in midfield will be enough for us to sort it out. Just a shame our strikers dont pull out of the tournament this year. I'd like to think Klopp might grab a striker on loan but we all know he'll soldier on as usual.
