They went 4 points ahead of us the weekend we lost to West Ham

6 games later we're 3 points ahead of them.

    Quite the turn around

I’m still not getting where the tipping point is for game cancellations?

Make it up as they go along.

I saw somewhere claims that Chelsea had 9 players out due to Covid but because they had 14 first team players available (including a GK) that is enough to field a team so the game went ahead. Reading between the lines it seems that you need to be unable to field an 11 from your 25 man squad or not have any GK s from that first team squad available to get games postponed.

... But I doubt that was the case for at least one of the sides in all the games called off yesterday...

So an injury ravaged squad could have a game postponed because of a single Covid case in theory?

I think that there have always been these types of rules, (although I could be wrong) they are not new/specific to Covid, but under normal circumstances I would imagine that having 14 or more of your 25an squad injured would be unlikely so it has never really come up before.

I guess the question is whether these numbers are/should be reduced because Covid is such an infectious disease and we are in the middle of a pandemic.

So Robertson got a straight red, presumably for violent conduct so he'll have a 3 game suspension? so will miss the League cup game against Leicester, and PL games against Leeds and Leicester, and be back for the Chelsea game assuming there are no postponements

Could all change if matches get postponed I’d assume.

Man City will run away with it if fixtures continue. They just have too much strength in depth depth will absorb any Covid absentees

Yep - we need out strongest side available to win the league but we’ll be hard to beat in the champions league

Without doubt. Covid is tailor made to aid the squad with
the most strength in depth. The advantage they have through a normal season is enough, when sides start losing players through COVID, that advantage is just massive.
