No, absolutely not, and I have the condition ceradronus which is form of muffled hearing due to a waxy build up caused by overlistening to post-rock, so I just went off the tv. I'd be very glad to hear that it wasn't the case though.

      • Becker is sharp as ****. Commanded his box against the worst kind of opposition and made great saves when called on. Majestic.
      • Burnley, despite being able to play a bit of football when they want to, are a side of cloggers, cart-horses and lollygaggers. **** them as a shower of bellends and their parody ****house manager.
      • Trent will be making his transition to midfielder at some point soon, surely? He's as bad at the back as he's good at the front if I can both elevate and lower him simultaneously.
      • Mane still isn't the player he was, despite a cracking finish today. Don't know what's up with him.
      • Jota continues to provide the kind of difference in our play we've need for a couple of years. Leapt like a salmon between two galoots by getting to the right spot. The look on the Burnley defenders' faces as they realised he'd gubbed them was like the first bite of a bacon sandwich the morning after a stag do.
      • Tsimikas is the nicest surprise we've had at left back since Robertson. Who knew?
      • Elliot has stepped up and shown he's not wanting. He'll only get better as well. Love it.
      • Keita. Couple of ok passes, a few misplaced ones, a rickett at the back that he was lucky not to be punished for and a wildly hit shot into the back of the stands. He's not designed for where Jurgen is playing him now, having pretty much proved he's not good enough to play for us in the position that he is designed for.

And of course, nice to have the crowd back although I was expecting greater levels of noise considering.
      Nope.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Sorry, was called out unexpectedly. Got a spare 5 mins.

I just don't see how you can draw those conclusions from that match, it reads like you are trying to twist the narrative to support some preconceived notions.

Feel that's harsh on Trent. McNeil did okay first half, but can't think of too much wrong Trent did, that couldn't be expected from any other FB. Over the two games, I felt he's shown some maturity in defending and got in some good positions, as shown in the goal line clearance. Feel MOTM from BT is OTT, but he had a good game. I don't think we'll ever see him as a midfielder.

Mane was **** last year (probably the pressure of fans trying to make him out to be better than Mo ). Pre-season he looked sharp, first game he looked sharp. He struggled for 55 mins today, but picked up after that and got a well deserved goal. On this season's form there is little to worry about.

Have to laugh at the Naby comments. They sound pretty petty TBF. We don't need Naby to play the role we had expected when he initially signed (at the time we hoped him and/or Fekir would provide penetration from the centre, but when we had neither, we changed approach to involve Trent and Robbo more). He has had to curb his attacking instincts to play the Gini role, which he's more than capable of and did a good job so far. I actually think he played better against Norwich, but he caught the eye more here as he was allowed to be more expansive, which naturally resulted in more mistakes which you are holding against him. Overall he had a good game though, so again it's harsh to single him out for criticism.

                All fair points.

For the first one I think that Trent is a much better attacker than defender, we forgive his rickets at the back because he offers so much going forward. That's the trade off generally with the way our full backs play though. He's a fantastic player and I see his long-term future moving further up pitch. He was skinned today and that position has been targeted for two seasons now because he often gets gubbed, so it's not only McNeil that he needs to worry about.

With Mane he's proved to us that he's an exceptional player, he just doesn't seem to be as good as he has been for a season I'd say, he's struggling to beat people and hitting weak shots where before he was testing the keepers a lot more. Don't know why that is, I'm just willing him to get his mojo back.

Re Keita, I think we've said it all before, no need to run through it again. You see his performances and think he's good enough for us, I don't. That's not saying he's ****, just that we need better than him in our midfield. I think we can leave that one there. I don't have any agenda with Keita - if he plays well I'll say it and be happy to do so, same as the rest of the players.

While Trent is a talented player and offers alot going forward I don't see him being moved from full back while we have our current style of play as he's basically irreplaceable. You could argue that in the current system he is more likely to get forward from full back than he would be if playing in midfield. I'm not sure what you really gain from that, he had a good range of passing but Thiago currently does that, maybe he gets a few more goals from being central than he does on the right but I think you lose the assists.

Also I wonder if he gets more time and space and is so effective because he plays at full back - his main direct opponent is likely to be a winger or wide midfielder who no matter how hardworking they might be prefer to think primarily about getting forward rather than defending, if he moves forward he might be up against a more defensive minded opponent which might reduce his effectiveness (maybe, or maybe not).

Personally I don't see him moving further forward anytime soon.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Keita will get better as he gets more games. Patience will reap its dividends with him, you can clearly see that Klopp rates him very highly and probably as one of his first choice midfielders even given everyone is fit.

As for Trent, I thought he was a bit sloppy first half but was excellent second half. I thought he defended well as well, dealt with situations quite well and did what he needed to do. Obviously, him being the focal point of a lot of our play, he won’t be in a perfect situation to defend at times and that’s fine, because Hendo or Naby or someone else should cover for him.
                    Are we winning?

Thrilled with the result & the rise & rise of Elliot & Tsimikas is great to watch. I’m surprised we played Hendo for the full 90 mins being his first match back and thought he’d get 60 & Thiago the 30. I hope there’s no injuries to our two FB’s as Trent could be seen hobbling after the whistle blew.

They really are more a rugby side than football at times. That tackle where Jota got thrown to the ground when he was shielding the ball wtf?

Player ratings if anyone’s keen to discuss. It seems strange that an 18yr old scores a 9 & the other 2 midfielders score 7 but it’s hard to argue that really. I had all of the back 4 scoring 9 but they gave Joel a 9.

Did you see Keita's Klopp hug? Again it clearly shows he's following his manager's instructions to the letter and did a bloody good job doing so.
