I think we need to protect Matip at all costs, and so would bring in Konate for his long-awaited debut. Him alongside Big Virg should have more than enough muscle to deal with that tedious cunt 'Zlatan'.

Would be very unkopplike to start both, but there is a strong case for resting both. Virgil played internationals as well. Gomez and Konate must be chomping at the bit.

We played Rhys and Nat at CB's last season - so I think we can handle seeing Joe and Ibrahima for a game.

This is a real Champions league group - the 2nd and 3rd most successful clubs and another former winner. Factor AM into that as Spanish champions + all the players they bought and every game will be “big”. We need a win tomorrow - Milan ha e started the season well but they are not at our level.

They have some excellent players though:

- Maignan in goal
- Theo H at LB is a worldie
- Tonali and Kessie in midfield
- Promising youngsters Zlat and Giroud up front

We need to ratchet yep the tempo and they won’t handle it........last time we played them was the final in 2007. You should’ve started Crouch Rafa!!!!

Only Matip will be rested for this one with Hendo coming in for Elliott. Not sure who gets the nod in defence Konate or Gomez.

It's a bloody tough group and a must win game. We need the 3 points with Porto away next followed by Atletico Madrid double header. Packed Anfield under the lights for a CL game and it'll be rocking. Start fast, put the game to bed and then managed the game.

With Palace at home on Saturday, we go full strength again and then give the starters a weeks rest and play the back ups v Norwich in EFL cup

No ****ing about with resting players yet. They should all be fresh after a long preseason and a few games in the legs and just coming off an International break where lots didn't play.

Hendo or Keita in for Elliott and maybe Tsimikas for Robbo, as he's coming off that ankle injury and a few games for Scotchland and Tsimi was playing very well during Robbo's layoff.

Matip is the quandry. You don't want to rest him, but with his injury history maybe its best to just have him playing 1 game a week. So Gomez or Donate can fill in.

Other than that strongest side possible for this. You can rest players once we've safely qualified. We have a tough group, there's no easy games at all.
