Atletico Madrid AWAY CL match day 3

I was surprised we didn’t sub any of the front three off yesterday considering we had the match sewn up at HT so I’m not sure what to expect selection wise for this.

Robbo seemed to pick up a knock in the first half but played on so I’m wondering if he gets a rest & Timmy gets a start plus I think Matip will be rested so either Konate or Jo gets the start.

Midfield is the problem picking for me. Hopefully Jones is back in the mix and or Thiago. Could we see Jones or Thiago with Fabinho & Naby?

Up front I’m not sure . Possibly Jota, Origi & Salah but I’d hope to see Minamino get minutes too.

I don’t prioritise this as much as the weekends match at United obviously so I’d be happy with Mo on the bench for this tbh.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Don’t expect Thiago back in Klopp’s press conference - I think Fab, Hendo + 1. With regards to the front 3 - I think Salah and Mane in particular “like” regular game time as it keeps them sharp, they have shown over the years two games a week in ok for them

So who’d you start with Mo & Sadio? Origi or Jota?

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I think he goes as strong as possible again and will be the same for United

These are our bogey team at the moment. I always have a bad feeling going into games against them.

So true. I loathe Simeone & his antics.

A draw here kills Atletico. They will try to go all out attack in the first ten minutes, nick a goal then sit back. Or sit back and go all out in the last 20. We need to be passive in this game and let them show their hand. There should be large parts where our players can 'rest' with boring Chelsea-esque passing.

That’s where Origi might come in handy to hold onto the ball.

Wtf are you talking about, a draw guarantees that they stay 2nd… a loss will keep them 2nd as well unless Porto win by 5 minus the amount athletico lose by.

After we beat the other 2 teams, I can’t imagine athletico would turn down a point off us.
                        I don't tip

I wonder is this a game where Virgil gets a break? In reality he has been amazing since he came back but the fact that he has played a few international games as well recently might mean that Jurgen asks him to sit this one out so that he is tip-top for Sunday.

I think both Robbo and Trent will play because they were subbed off the other day.

I can't see us resting him against Atleti to be honest! They're much too tough of an opponent, we need him in there.

Yeah surely it'll be Matip getting a rest.

                              I'd rest Robbo too.
