Nice goal, credit where it's due but apart from that he had a giant mare and his mistakes completely changed the momentum of the game. He is just not good enough imo.
He was pulled cos we needed a tactical change, we needed Fabinho on, and at that point any of the midfield 3 could have been taken off. Keita played in the international break, the other 2 were fresher, so Keita was the logical choice.

The rest of the midfield are so lightweight that without fabinho we are toothless.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

All in all, we are missing a powerhouse in that midfield with Milner having his best days behind him, Hendo off form & Gini gone with Keita not suitable for scrappy games like last night.
We only looked good when Fabinho came on & started to impose himself on the game to take the sting out of Atletico.

Gini would have been useful last night with his brilliance in ball retention & passing.

He was pulled because he could not handle the pace or physicality of the game & we were getting exposed because of his mistakes, if he wasn't at fault for those goals there is no way he get whipped at half time. It wasn't even just the goals, the last 25 mins of that half he was all over the shop.

Neither of the 3 lads are DM's and it showed when Atletico started to push. Trent had zero cover and that ball down the channel/over the top was on every time. Keita wasn't the only one who played poorly, he was just the worst out of the bunch and the game proved a bit too much for him. Instant difference in balance and solidity when Fab came on.

was only having this conversation last night. Those were the games were Gini really excelled.
