There's definitely something in that. Is it 3 times so far this season that the opposition have gone down to 10 men and we've failed to score a single goal?Originally posted by Liverpool View PostI've never seen Klopp and his staff give so much advice and changes during a game, we didn't know how to handle them. Lots of arguing amongst players.
There was a period at 2-0 where Brighton camped in their own half and let us mess about with it and we seemed to lose focus and never get it back.
Season we won the league we had a ruthless way of seeing games out which we've lost, I reckon that team would have turned the 4 draws into at least 2-3 win.
Title race is wide open imo.
We've seen a lot of sides at the top before Christmas, only to fall away drastically from January, but I don't think any of them had the squad similar in quality to Chelsea. That and the fact that they are high in confidence with them being European champions, and the fact that this is all built on a solid defence, I don't see them dropping away any time soon.Glass half empty club

When I read your post I thought it was over the top - maybe the result made me more picky……. I don’t know. What I do know is I think you’re a good guy and I ain’t continuing this debate because it’s opinions and ours are different. You are entitled to your opinion and so am I
I think we’ll finish above Chelsea but again that’s just my opinion
you gave me an out? A bit supercilious if ya don't mind me saying Nev jeez. I am a good guy and I'm sure you are a good guy and I'm sure most are on here, not sure why you would say that anyways to be honest as we are just talking about football. My opinion is, the result made you pick on my comment as I'm an easy target to call hyperbolic & that's ok by me if it's true.
You didn't give me an out, you just made a comment that was untrue and you can't back track from it is all. There are times when I post hyperbolic things, as does everyone ... this was not one of those, anyways no big deal just a random debate on the net mate nothing more

Thiago and Fabinho can’t come back quickly enough.
I like Oxlade-Chamberlain as a person but he’s just a ****ing passenger.
Plenty of poor performances but that midfield combo should never be on the pitch together.

I think the thing about Chelsea over performing etc is out the window as they have a packed squad and don't compromise as much when they rotate. That will only become more of an advantage as the season progresses. We will also lose Salah, Mane and Keita for a period in January too which is huge. I would like to think we will do some business in Jan window but it's hard to know with us.
We are doing great this season and will be there and there abouts but the midfield is an issue. We didn't replace Gini and we are relying on players in that key area that are injury prone. This was discussed several times across various threads in the summer window.
We cannot rely on Keita or Thiago as they are crocks. Henderson and Fab pick up quite a few injuries too. Milners legs can only do so much and Ox is ****e, I'm just gonna say it. Jones is still young and learning too. IMO is is absolutely vital (not being hyperbolic) that we add 2 midfielders in the winter window, one attacking and one a bit more deep lying maybe.
I'm not too worried about the defence as I do think they as being left exposed by our midfield. Konate was all over the shop yesterday but it's early days for him, personally I do prefer VVD/Matip partnership for the time being. Konate was out of position so many times and him and Virgil were on completely different wave lengths on when to drop and push hence our line being exposed badly. Trent was never great defensively but offers so much going forward you can forgive that, Robbo on the other hand is a better defender than Trent but he isn't offering anywhere near the attacking threat he used to. His game is way off its best imo and his dead ball delivery is infuriating. We really need to stop him taking corners and free kicks from that side.
Fair play to Brighton, I thought they were excellent they out fought us and gave us a really hard time. City dropped points which is just aswell but Chelsea seem to be the team to beat and it was annoying that they benefitted from our sloppy performance yesterday.Last edited by danperkins; 31-10-21, 09:24 AM.

I didn’t intend to pick on a comment Dan. I think I might have projected my frustrations from the game onto you - apologiesOriginally posted by danperkins View Post

I think with the midfield we have fit there will be a few more like that coming up so I’ll be more considered

Neither Karius nor I were part of it so there was nobody handsome involved.
Just a Jackeen and a bog man throwing air punches whilst standing about ten feet apart.

Well yes. We can call a Dub a prick, but anyone else here tries it and we will reef the fecker.
