Didn't Dewbury Hall have a couple of years of PL experience though?

Also he went to Chelsea, IMO there is a difference in fee paid for similar quality players if you are selling up to a bigger club, compared to if you are selling down to a smaller club. - The implication being a small club selling to a bigger club is letting one of their better players go presumably onto bigger things, a big club selling to a smaller club is typically this player hasn't made it here but he might be ok for you/needs regular games but isn't good enough to get them here... etc, which makes them less 'prized' and that is usually reflected in the fee.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Maybe, but he has 2 years PL experience on TYler. Buying potential with Tyler being 4 years younger.

I think as long as we have a decent sell on/Buy back clause its a decent deal

Yeah, not unhappy with the deal tbh, think I saw somewhere 20% sell on. Hope he does well.

Good luck to him, had a few decent games for us a few years back but wasn't really at the level.

Not sure where to put this but we have done really well in recent years getting good money for players who have come through the academy who haven't made it here Brewster £23m, van den Berg £20m, Williams £17m, Morton £15m, Ward £12m, Wilson £12m, Clark £10m, Hoever £10m. That's over £100m for players who barely played for us. Add to that £35m for Quansah and £18m for Kelleher, who were squad players and played a fair bit that's over £150m from the academy in the last 5 or so years

Rob Page has come in & got good preseason results despite being without his star players. Albeit there’s been the players who were out on loan like Gordon, Beck etc but still good to see good results when a new coach comes in.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Still fills me with amazement. £23m for Brewster.
                Really?

That’s got to be around £50m in today’s money

                    Carvalho too.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

19 appearances 2 goals. Will get more time this season you’d imagine with Mbuemo away and Wissa likely to leave.

I didn't mention him or Solanke as we paid a few million quid for each (~£7.5m for Carvalho and £3m for Solanke) and brought them in as promising young players who spent relatively little time in the academy as they were mostly in or around the first team squad. So I would probably say it is fairer to count them as first team signings rather than academy sales, but we sold them for £20m each so made about £30m profit on them

Elliott would be another who falls into this category IMO

If we are going to keep pointing the finger at Bournemouth, then the 15m for Jordon Ibe has to be mentioned.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

I'm sure Bournemouth are more than happy with the Dom Solanke deal.

Signed for £20m? And sold for almost £60m
