I think the logic was that, as he was challenging with James then he was involved in the play, and as he was in an offside position and involved in the play then it’s offside. I think that this is an interesting comparison, you can see how happy Alisson was for Kelleher. I can't help but wonder what the dynamic at Chelsea will be between their keepers. Mendy was having a great game and had recently won the ACN on pens must be frustrated at having played so well but not have the opportunity to win the game for them and missing out on a winners medal. Similarly bringing Kepa on just for the pens puts pressure on him to save one at least, it's like bringing someone on to take a pen, you are effectively saying 'you have one job...'
