Burnley (a) build-up and match thread

    [ame]https://twitter.com/JamesPearceLFC/status/1492076262063579163[/ame]

Do we wrap Thiago in cotton wool against these dogs and leave him out with Inter in mind? Jones will definitely drop out. Henderson back in. Maybe Elliott too? Konate in for Matip?
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Put Thiago on the bench. Burnley definitely the sort of team where he could pick up an injury. I'd not rush Harvey back for this one either. The Inter game is massive to our season, so we need to play with that in mind.

Matip was good last night, but two crazy passes were nearly costly. This game has a Konate feel about it.

Another bus park team with aspirations of hitting it long over Trent's shoulder. Playing Hendo and Fab together against most teams is just playing with ten men nowadays.

As awesome as that front three sound we should think more attacking in the first half and if we're winning then bring on Hendo and even Ox/Milner to shore things up.

          Fab Keita
          Elliot

          One tit for another.

I'd be keeping Elliot well away from these yard dogs.

Fab, Hendo and one of Jones or Naby in midfield.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Agree with that sentiment. Quieting the crowd early on & then forcing them to come out & play & we can hit them on the counter.

Diaz could be key to the game, he’s got to the byline and put dangerous balls in a good few times already. Get the Burnley defence facing their own goal with low cut backs from the byline. It’s got to be a better tactic than just lumping aimless crosses into the box which we’ve been guilty of too often against bus parking cloggers like Burnley.

Jota doesn’t mind getting his head onto a good ball in the box though. If he’s played centrally instead of Bobby a little chipped ball into him could produce results. But yeah it shouldn’t be our plan A I agree.

The classic lineup, Bobby, Sadio and Mo up top. Naby, fab and Hendo behind, then Robbo, VVD, Matip and Trent.

A bit harsh on Jota to lose his place, but the rest might do him good.

Quality bench, very surprised Jota doesn't start; especially as I expected this front 3 to start vs Inter on Wednesday

I dont think we sould be worried who starts or doesn’t. More about who makes the squad. There is so much rotation these days.
Jacques Brel is alive and well and playing at Anfield

That has to be the strongest bench we have ever had. Wow.
