What a load of ****ing ****e. Gomez was a key member of a team that set a record setting PL pace to win the league. Are you telling me that if we had Nat Phillips there instead we'd still have won the league at such a canter? I doubt it.

Gomez hasn't had a long VVD type run this season so it sensible not to place such high expectations on him when it comes to match sharpness.

And what do you do with that money? Get a world class 4th choice centre back for £50m? Make sense.

Gomez needs games and we should not expect he’s perfect when he comes on. If he can’t get that here he may want to move but it’s going to be our loss and a gain for whichever team buys him as he’s a world class centre back at his best.

For sure Gomez is in an upper echelon in terms of talent than Fletcher, who was decent but not anywhere near to being world class.

The stick Gomez gets here is incomprehensible. It’s like there is a need to have at least a player each game to stick the boot in.

Gomez had two career threatening injuries and is only 24. You’re taking the piss are you, you’ve got to. Each and every game you need to have one player to pick on.

Yet we’re still plodding along in 4 competitions despite so many woeful players in our squad.

Apart from Gomez not being that good, he has had massive injury problems for one so young and has rarely been available which is absolutely useless to us. He will not be happy sitting on the bench and he is not good enough to be a starter ahead of the current lads. At least Philips is an option most weeks.

But Gomez was part of blah blah who gives a **** when he cannot stay fit. But let's hang on to all these crocks, solid plan. Sell
