Two criticisms that could be labelled at Jones and valid ones imo. Firstly he needs to score and assist more. Secondly, he needs to let the ball go quicker... especially playing in this LFC side with how quickly we transition. I was surprised he started last night aswell. We got through and now Hendo can start the next league game so worked out ok. Rotation is a dangerous thing but every team has to do it, unfortunately we can't all be like City who do not compromise when they rotate.

Thought Jones pressing was okay last night. It was him that forced Inter defender into a mistake that directly led to Salah's first effort that hit the post.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I think I really like with Hendo is how often he overlaps down the right wing. He's very good at it and he's got a good delivery from those wide positions too.

Could well be right and on a free he would be great squad depth but would an established player of his age be willing to see out his latter years as a squaddie though.

He will be a very good pick up for some club though if he does not re sign with Inter.

The Inter midfielder I would want would be Barella though. Guy has it all as a midfielder and coming into his prime now. Would slot in nicely amongst our other summer singings like Tchouameni and Pedri.

You would never guess by all that who are my current trio in the middle for my LFC Fifa22 team. If I cannot see them in red for real, then they sure as hell end up in my Fifa team. Even have Bellingham on the bench

I’d agree on letting the ball go quicker but none of our midfield score or assist enough if we are being honest……we’ve discussed this ad nausem and we know that’s because their role is to facilitate and connect. Robbo and Trent provide the creativity and Curtis has had to adapt his normal game to play the system. The right sided 8 is now more advanced so perhaps that should mean more “output” but Curtis often plays the more controlling left sided 8, he swapped over and back with Thiago last night

Thought Naby had a decent cameo also last night - difficult to make a proper assessment as they were down to 10 at that point. Carried the ball through congested areas a few times to open up space and didn’t give it away cheaply (like we had been doing).

Yeah Naby has had a decent season for us. Got crocked by that horror tackle from Pogba which derailed him a bit. I think he is pretty decent whenever he plays.

I reckon Ox will leave. He is just not going to get the minutes or the profile of games he wants.

Might not make sense to anyone else or even to myself, but a point I always have.

Hendo and Naby are a little better at pressing. However, Curtis is much better than both of them when it comes to stealing the ball off the opposition

I don't think he is messing, Dan. He as a bit of a look to him.

Just shine the Bat Shamrock signal into the sky. Nev and I will arrive to your aid with the battle roar of Irish Assemble ringing out.

That's true but adding a few goals from that midfield when things aren't happening on the wings would be nice. I think that we would see a few more goals from that midfield if we could just keep everyone fit. I think we have players capable of scoring goals from midfield but it seems we are always in patch work mode there.

elliott and jones are both capable and hopefully will grow into their roles.

Ox is arguably the best bet but we know his record
